The castle is very beautiful and well preserved. You get a sense of how life actually was lived here. I enjoyed the to floor ballroom very much. The garden looks lovely but I will have to return in the summer time to see it in bloom.

Stunning palace with lovely grounds. It was a treat to see the horses being exercised too. Well worth a visit if you’re in Copenhagen.

Loved the self-guided tour of the castle and the gardens. Plenty of information was provided by scanning the QR code at the entrance and accessing the information about each room through your phone.

Each room is rich with history and exquisite works of art work depicting the royals that ruled Denmark over many years.

One of the most fascinating parts of the tour was getting up close and personal with many of the original sculptures that used to be afixed to the castle.

Plan to spend 3 to 4 hours at the castle to do it proper justice. It is also just a short walk into town to visit some of the local shops and grab lunch at one of the many cafés.

All of the docents that we encountered on the property were extremely friendly and helpful. I would recommend this castle over many of the others in the area.

Tip: A free parking area is available by entering Batzkes Bakke in your GPS.

Interesting place to visit. The underground section was amazing. Would definitely visit in winter, looks amazing with ice and snow.

Egeskov Castle is situated in a fairy tale setting, surrounded by a moat and beautifully landscaped gardens. There's some mildly interesting exhibits inside the castle, and then there's some curiously-unrelated museums on the castle grounds. Overall though, if you're looking for an interesting outing where you'll find an abundance of great snapshot opportunities for your social media accounts, Egeskov Castle is worth visiting.

The Koldinghus is part of the The Royal Danish Collection of Castles. The first castle here dates back to 1268 and served as a defense in the border area between Denmark and the Duchy of Schleswig.

Today the Koldinghus Castle has been fully restored and serves as a museum. The restoration is excellent and in 1993 it was awarded the Europa Nostra prize, an organization founded to support cultural heritage in Europe.

The Castle is located downtown Kolding with nice views of the fjord. When we visited am exhibition about the Royal Yacht Dannebrog was on show. The yacht was built in 1931-32 and she really is a very beautiful ship, serving as a residence for the Royal Family. Obviously the yacht has been updated since the launch and it has travelled more than 800,000 nautical miles around the world. Exhibits include mock-ups with original works of art by the Queen.

Also an interesting exhibition showing an impressive collection of Flora Danica Royal Danish Porcelain was on show.

An excellent gift shop should also be mentioned.

Really nice place to visit! We were 2 parents and 2 kids (4 and 5 y.old) and was the from 10.00 to 17.00 and yet didn’t see everything! Several playgrounds and activities kept our small trolls happy.

Wonderful place in beautiful and peaceful surroundings. 13rd-century castle, with a variety of bird life in the moat, where boats are available - at your own risk. Rooms classically finished, as suited for a castle, but with all amenities.
Attentive service and a varied and tasty breakfast make it an easy choice.

Voergaard Castle, a Renaissance-era structure from the 1480's with a moat, isn't particularly impressive (as far as castles go), but it's art collection is noteworthy. You can see paintings from Goya, Rubens, Raphael, El Greco, and others, furniture pieces that belonged to Louis XIV and Louis XVI, and even plateware originally belonging to Napoleon. I also enjoyed learning about Ingeborg Skeel, the one-time queen of Voergaard Castle, who's said to haunt it to this day. Voergaard Castle is worth checking out if you're in the area, for example to visit Vikingemuseet Lindholm Høje, which is about 10 minutes away.

England had just beaten Denmark 13 hours earlier when we visited the Queen of Denmarks summer residence. We were even more happy to see 3 lions in the exterior of the palace facade facing towards the sea. I suppose it put a whole new meaning into Operation Sea Lion!!!
The palace is a brisk walk from the town center if you allow 60 minutes. It is located in an exclusive neighbourhood with other impressive villas and mature parkland overlooking Aarhus bay. Very nice and peaceful after the England victory. I think the queen was with us......
