What travelers are saying
- VanessaLytham St Anne's, UK3,352 contributionsIconic bridge with great views of Porto and Vila Nova De Gaia. Two levels to the bridge and accessible by road and path. There is a funicular at the side of it to take you up to the top of the city, but this wasn't working when we went. (Be prepared for lots of steep hills and steps!)
We wandered over the bridge a couple of times to visit the other side which is a must! There is lots to do and see over there too.Written March 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The tracks runs along the Duoro River for a lot of the time and through the area with vineyards. The trip is well worth it. A return ticket for a pensioner was about 15 Euros. Pensioners get a large discount in Portugal so remember to take your passport to the ticket office. There is very little at Pocinho, there are a couple of places to get food and a coffee. The big boats do not operate from Porto up the Duoro River in winter (Oct - Mar), because of risk and maintenance they do not operate the numerous dams they now have on the Duoro. The train is a good alternative.Written March 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

Sat for coffee and beer in a couple of the bars, prices are cheap and service was good. - Gardener01england450 contributionsLovely cathedral, ornate interior with original cloister and great views. The path up is really steep and long and proved quite a challenge! Very reasonable entry charge and worth a visit.Written March 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- JaCob5York, UK125 contributionsOne of the best 12 euros ever spent visiting a 'sight'. Just amazing. Interesting history and glorious architecture. In awe at the flooring and domed ceiling. The Arab room takes your breath away. Don't miss this.Written February 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DebbieDarrenWWeston super Mare, UK393 contributionsA stunning church. Simply beautiful. When the sun shines inside the church, its beauty comes alive. Get a guidebook and spend time looking around the church.
The ticket also allows entry inside the museum. Do not miss visiting the museum and the catacombs.
Please note no photos are allowed to be taken in the church. Staff do walk around inside the church.Written March 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Game was amazing and they gave out noisemakers and flags to the fans.Written October 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KomatorBarcelona, Spain894 contributionsThe Capela das Almas is a small church in the heart of Porto. The facade is spectacular, featuring a religious mural with blue tones. It's one of the typical views of Porto, and it's worth passing by to enjoy it.Written January 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jay GBethesda, MD166 contributionsThe beauty of the church was breathtaking. One of the best parts of the visit is that one of the staff took the time to explain everything to us while we were in the church. Her narrative made a huge difference. When we went to the second level there was another staff member who was also gracious with his time and explained everything to us. - JnVSydneyGreater Sydney, Australia18,466 contributionsWe actually stumbled upon this place, thinking we were visiting fresh food market, as it is actually a posh, food court/hall, which was a pleasant surprise.
The interior is stunning and very inviting, we loved just walking around taking it all in, it will be interesting to see if the other Mercado's are like this one.
We decided to eat at Daterra as it was excellent value at 10.50 for lunch, the food was tasty, and the dishes numerous, being a buffet we had our fill.
All in all a wonderful experience.Written December 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Booking online worked well. We thought 9.30pm was a late start, but it is close to the Metro, so late finish wasn't an issue for getting back to the centre. We were disappointed the restaurant isn't operating, but the cafe is open.Written April 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
