This is a fascinating tour of an old and fashionable private house. The tours are of small groups (5-8 people) and are led by one of the two sons of the owners. Great insights into the changes over centuries in Palermo. Definitely recommend.

Had full day tour with GO-ETNA, absolutely brilliant. A fascinating glimpse of the beauty and power of this volcano. The variety of scenery, stunning views was awe inspiring.
Followed by a visit to Alcantara Gorge that is truly stunning.

This is really a gem! Take the opportunity to visit this place before the sunset and enjoy the view and its colours. Because the restaurant, it's possible to have lunch or aperitivo sitting in front of it. Absolutely recommended for couples, friends or families. Usually it's really windy, so just be careful in case of small children.

As our experience in a small osteria off the beaten track was so good, we returned there every evening of our stay in Ortigia. It is located in Via Trieste 32 black on the corner, opposite of the entrance to the Hotel Posta. The fish was super fresh, and the dishes were typically Sicilian. Our host proposed every time a new and very tasty dish for us.

This is a must see if you are in Taormina. How amazing it is to experience a part of history at this spectacular amphitheater with the most gorgeous view.

A beautiful palace, which promises much from outside but, in fact , is quite limited once you get in. The royal appartments were closed when we were there, which was disappointing but it is worth it just to see the Palantine chapel on the first floor , which will blow you away. I've never seen anything quite so ornate. It is truly gorgeous.

Very impressive cathedral with a big garden and a panoramic view of the city. But you have to pay for every little room you want to see. The cost for the roof and the panoramic view (for max 10 minutes) is 7€. The ticket for everything is 15€

Amazing theatre and the visit is really good value for money! We were lucky enough to visit while singers were auditioning so heard the acoustics first hand. The echo room is guaranteed to make you smile!

There may still be some fishing, but it's a popular tourist sight now. Lovely to walk around the small streets, visit some shops, sit out and have a meal/drink. We drive past the overflow car park and straight into the village. There is a small car park that could accommodate about 10 cars.

It is a strange and eerie experience, on reflection of the visit you have to always bear in mind the reality of what happened Poggioreale and why it was abandoned, a tragic earthquake which took the lives of hundreds of people only 50 years ago and it is a living memorial to those who passed; this fact should always be front of mind if you visit. Should note that it also isn’t “open” to the public, it is fenced off with locked gates but getting in isn’t difficult and you can get over the wall very easily. We went because I am fascinated by deserted places not because we wanted to see a disaster zone (and make no mistake it is a disaster zone) but it is a time capsule and the fact that it isn’t a “tourist” spot means that you won’t have much, if any, company (we were there by ourselves). A fascinating place to visit of a bygone time, but treat it with the respect that it deserves!

The best beach of the island by far, but also the busiest one. By walk it takes about 15 minutes from the street down to go there. It opens at 8.30.
If it is constantly rated the best beach in 'Europe' it must be a reason!

The water and colour of the sand are so unique. Speechless.

Lampedusa has also the advantage of having a convenient airport to travel from Catania or Palermo, and the norther airports on summer time.

Interesting information about tonnario, nice bird viewing. The beach has a lot of vegetal
Debris. Once your got through it the water was clear and refreshing. 3,500 e to park and 3 e for park ticket.

The history of this famous Duomo is as fascinating as the structure itself but we were not allowed to tour the inside without a wrap to cover ourselves. We were dressed in summer clothes (decently as far as we were concerned) but the custodians refused us access to the inner parts of the ediface

This beautiful church is something to put on your itinerary when in Palermo. It is centrally located and can easily be included in a walk around the city. The decoration inside is really beautiful.

Visited here and did the walk that showed the different stages that the salt workers do and the Salt Museum which was very interesting though small. They do sell some salts including bath salts that you can take home as a souvenir
