Marco was our driver and friendly. He was on time for our departure at each location. There was enough time to enjoy both stops: Alta Mura for an hour and a half and Matera for four hours. It is an incredible part of the world and if you’re looking for a private taxi, it was great.
My only criticism and reason for not giving 5 stars is that he didn’t speak to us at all unless he had to. I wasn’t expecting a guided tour by any means, but he chatted away with the Italian couple about the sites we were visiting and gave us the bare minimum. Obviously English is his second language and maybe he felt uncomfortable speaking it, but even a few words about where we were going or seeing, or the history during the drive would have been appreciated.
