This place is has a stunning landscape with double lighthouse, on one hand there is a low building with lantern, this is the old lighthouse, on the other hand the newer lighthouse that is actually in service at the moment, just next to it, plenty of parking space, unsurfaced road and nice place for a walk, especially in the evening, take a small torch with you as when darkness falls, there is no light outside the lighthouse itself. It would even be better if the old lighthouse would be transformed into a café or something.

We stopped here on our drive from San Cristóbal de La Laguna to Puerto de la Cruz. It's a good road with nice sea views approaching Hidalgo with surfers along the beachfront. Google Maps had us turn on a narrow lane which we followed down for ~700 m, with banana plots and large greenhouses tight on both sides and luck needed if meeting another vehicle. A level spot has been pushed out at an overlook of the bright white modern 1994 160' Punta del Hidalgo Light where we parked and walked.

Having spotted this lighthouse from Garachico, looked it up on TripAdvisor & Google Mapped it & found it.

Looks stunning up close, though you can't get right up to it as it's behind locked gates, but at least that stops Num-Nuts graffiting it like they have at Punta del Hidalgo.
Good views around & coastal walks(if that's what rocks your boat)

Saturday 11th December and we visited the picturesque fishing Village of Las Galletas on the southern tip of the island

This prominent building stands at the outermost point of the Marina wall.

We walked the length of the Marina wall to take a closer look at this brightly blue painted building with it's white edging.

It consists of three floor, almost like a wedding cake with tiers, all topped with a beacon light on the roof.

Part of the ground floor appeared to be a storage room for a restaurant, or a restaurant that has not reopened. There are a couple of operational resturants in the building. It is also home to the Marina Offices.

Nearby there are stone steps in the Marina wall which lead up to a viewing platform
