What travelers are saying
- SortiesWoburn Sands, UK42 contributionsLike anyone visiting Nuremberg, a trip to the rally grounds was a must. I booked the €12-tour and frankly it would have been worth €100.
The exceptional guide, Marco, brought everything to life and was happy to reflect on the very obvious philosophical questions this place raises.
This tour revealed many shocking behind-the-scenes facts about how the grounds were conceived, the revolving propaganda surrounding them, and, ultimately, the Nazi's failure to complete the project, both physically and metaphorically.
There were moments when I was lost for words. One of them was the series of pictures and photos that give lie to the "we didn't know anything about it' post-war claims. A second was being able to stand exactly where Hitler gave speeches - on what is now a decaying and sorry looking monument.
For living proof that power is transient and that Nazi ideology was an elegantly choreographed illusion, this is the place to visit.Written March 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We spent four hours there and mainly saw the highlights.Written December 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JessOxford, UK9 contributionsAn amazing experience. Very easy to understand and the audio guides are great (most text isn’t in English). You can actually go into the courtroom / The highlight was definitely the video in the courtroom, it’s an amazing immersive show that should not be missed!!Written March 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - K'Elle ThorSan Diego, CA48 contributionsMy son loves trains, especially german trains! He was so excited and loved the whole museum. I liked the the retro part of the museum , made me feel old! Lol
Our son also liked the kinder “touch and olay” area and riding the little train.
Wish the model train display was operating but maybe next time.Written October 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Saeideh SBamberg, Germany1 contributionthat was amazing and cool ,

- jbg74Saint Paul, MN1,057 contributionsThis was a pretty cool museum. The written information is in German and their audio guide is being upgraded so we couldn't get an information in English. It was still really interesting to see the interiors of various rooms. One room had a display of rotating photos where it showed a photo of an area in the old town pre-WWII, then a photo of the same place in 1945, then a photo of the modern city in the same area. It really showed how much beautiful architecture was lost in 1944-45.Written September 23, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TYPSUKRArlington, VA758 contributionsThis was part of an old wine storage complex (now mostly a school), but we took advantage of the covered bridge to take in yet another view of the river, and get some good photos.Written January 25, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sandy SAlbuquerque, NM1,047 contributionsThe Tucher Mansion was a true house museum. Almost completely destroyed during World War Two, the grand patrician residence was rebuilt in the 1960s, and the 16th and 17th Century tapestries, portraits and furnishings, which the family had rescued, put back in place. The Tuchers made their first fortunes in the spice, textile and fur trades, plus mining and smelting, expanding into brewing in the 19th Century. The Tucher Brewery remains Nürnberg’s second largest; the name adorns umbrellas set over terrace tables in front of pubs. Although the family was only granted noble status in 1815, the lifestyle reflected in the museum was anything but typical middle class. They clearly appreciated fine craftsmanship, whether in tapestries or tableware. The museum’s Renaissance Garden made a pleasant spot to take a break from sightseeing, although the decidedly contemporary sculptures placed around it clashed with the mood. Several looked like assemblages of breasts.Written June 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 103erVirginia Water, UK143 contributionsAn interesting museum above the 2 floors of the DB Museum.
Interesting to see things like old telephones and televisions which were around when I was a child.
Worth looking at if you visit the DB MuseumWritten December 3, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The lady at the desk spoke little English but she was so gracious and welcoming we could not resist taking the tour. It was great and well worth 6 Euros. They provide sound boxes that gave great descriptions in English.Written October 28, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
