It’s a collection worth a detour if you are nearby St Paul and are interested in art. The present temporary exhibition was not my favorite (Jacques Monory) but the permanent collection it’s very nice, especially the sculptures, the Giacometti and the very peaceful garden.

We toured la Chapelle Folon / Chapelle des Penitents blancs during the Journee du Patrimoine. It is beautifully decorated with paintings typical of Folon's art, with a whimsical fountain inside.

This simple church was first built in the 14th century, and finished in the 18th century with a combination of structures and styles.

The central nave still features the original late Romanesque style, while the side aisles were added in the 16th century to enlarge the building. The church was made a collegiate church in 1666, and new interior decorations were purchased such as the choir which was sculpted in 1668. The chapel of Saint Clement was also built at the same time in the Baroque style.

The church has four chapels and a collection of antiquities which include parchment from the 16th century, a Tintoretto painting and precious jewellery. The grand bell tower dates from the 18th century.

A huge Nativity scene was still on view, many places seem to keep their Christmas decorations well into January, much longer than we do in England where we take them down before the twelfth night.

This church is beautiful inside with bright yellow and white walls. Some artwork is inside and a large iron cross outside.

So tiny and cute little museum. It explains the history of the place and the life of its inhabitants from the past. Not too expensive and quite interesting. I recommend a visit here.

Fairly commercial but picturesque, well preserved, medieval city with lots of shops that will cause you to pause and take notice. Beautiful stonework on the main walkways. During our visit, many stores were closed in protest of the mask requirements.

Visited this charming little shop which is down a staircase hidden away in a lane. What a lovely array of fine wines and liquors. My husband purchased a bottle of wine at a very reasonable price and he is currently enjoying it greatly!

On a Mediterranean cruise last year we visited St Paul de Vance, a beautiful hilltop village north of Nice/Cannes, with many interesting shops where I discovered Choisy La Galerie. I was immediately attracted to the unique designs and beautiful colours of the clothes, with complementary jewellery. I bought a dress and a necklace, which has received many compliments from friends. One of whom had looked online & admired a necklace with a lime coloured stone. It was her birthday at the end of April and I emailed the store on the off chance to see if I could order it, during this pandemic. My friend was at home self-isolating alone and I thought it would be a wonderful surprise for her. The store went to great lengths to ensure they selected the necklace I wanted, and posted it to me. She was totally amazed that I had managed to get it, and absolutely delighted as it complimented many of her clothes.
I will be hopefully visiting this store in the future to thank them personally and to buy some more of their beautiful designs.

I visited St Paul few times in last few years and every time I stop by that knife shop. Last time I bought 2 for my collection of regional French knives, I also like their steak knife options, if you want a set with good French design, go there or order online from them.

It is right at the end of St Paul De Vence. You have to walk through the entire area to the cemetery in the end. The place was very quiet and had many other people interred there.

Lovely little place in the quaint town of St. Paul. Kids loved the cookies & white nougats. Learnt about the free tin boxes (nice gifting option) that were offered for a certain quantity of product purchased and ended buying a couple of box loads.
