- RonL40Utica, NY3,565 contributionsDon't be disappointed after you go into the drawing rooms on the first floor or (if you're not interested in medieval art) the illuminated pages on the second floor. The pearls of this collection are below, in a marvelous collection of Monet paintings -- over a dozen of his water lilies. There is as well, an impressive collection of works by Berthe Morisot impressionist paintings. Boosted by a special exhibit of Morisot when we were there. Well worth going.Written November 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Justine K7 contributionsThis Paris landmark was amazing! Highly recommended. We went alone but happily stumbled upon Raphael, a private guide who knows every square inch and every historical and hysterical fact about the cemetery’s interred. He led us around and made our visit incredibly memorable. (That’s him on the left)Written March 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ArtemisInLoveGA252 contributionsThe most unexpected, fantastical, magical museum in Paris. Photographers will feel like they're in a dream world. Everyone else will be enchanted. So much better than countless paintings as far as museums go. You can't miss this attraction.Written December 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Christine SJackson, NJ40 contributionsBeautiful museum and testament to a families rich history. Be sure to watch the video on the top floor before beginning your tour.Written October 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Harry GSolon, OH345 contributionsWe have visited often. We did not know there were galleries under the main floor. We would not have known but for going to the current special exhibit about etching. Super. So too the collections we had missed on all our previous visits. Shame on us. We stayed for a light lunch. Very efficient service and good pasta. To be in such a venue is a special honor.Written November 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Traveler OWashington DC, DC1,068 contributionsSet on the site of Gallo-Roman baths from nearly 2,000 years ago, this is an excellent museum on medieval history, namely that of Paris and France. It's a two story museum (lift available) containing many artifacts and remnants from Gallo-Roman times onwards. Excellent displays and the museum is well laid out. Certain displays may be closed or open dependent on the time of year. The outdoor sections are only open when the time is right - usually when the weather is nicer. There's an audio guide available sometimes which is very helpful. You can also arrange a guided tour ahead of time. Gift shop at the end with many books on the subjects covered in the museum. Lockers and bathrooms available on site as well. It's right off of Cluny metro stop and when done at the museum there are plenty of eateries and shops just outside the museum.Written March 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - david nManchester, UK4,758 contributionsAn enjoyable green space with mature landscape, ideal for that stroll to clear the mind. Well-lit at night too.Written November 25, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Laura HSan Francisco, CA70 contributionsI really enjoyed my visit! It is a house tour that is a little off the beaten path of the Paris museums. Not far from Arc de Triomphe. Interesting architectural details and a perhaps slightly oddball but interesting collection of pieces.Written February 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RonL40Utica, NY3,565 contributionsWe were expecting a history of the deportations during World War Ii. The museum and memorials are much more more... here is an exhaustive history of antisemitism and pogroms... from the days of the Roman Empire through contemporary times. The World War I experience is emphasized but there is a deep and long history that is not overlooked. Remarkable presentations. The exhibition of the photographs of Julia Pirotte, a French resistance fighter, was beautifully curated -- on exhibit until January 7, 2024. So go soon if you have the chance! A free museum that is beautifully designed and deeply moving.Written November 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's beautiful inside, with the soaring arches and crisp white stones you expect from Parisian churches.
Located right behind the Pantheon, this church houses the shrine of Saint Genevieve, patroness of Paris, who according to legend saved the city from the ravages of Attila the Hun.Written February 18, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Highly recommend getting the audio guide (available in French, English, Spanish, Chinese, German, Japanese, and Italian). Museum is on three floors - accessible via lift or stairs. There's also a cafe on site with some light foodfare options. The displays are interesting and the ending portion inside the former church which now houses some vehicles, has a swing pendulum which is great to see. Very small giftshop - mostly books - at the end of the tour. An informative visit.Written March 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA16,858 contributionsOne of my favorite things to do in Paris is to take a long walk in this elevated park. It used to be a railroad line stretching out to the suburbs, long abandaoned, but then turned into a lovely linear park. It connects up with a couple of other much wider parks further east and one can walk all the way out to the Peripherique. Some clever planting along the way.Written January 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Thomas VOakland, CA16,858 contributionsCome and hang out here like Louis XIV did when he was a kid. He played in the fountains. You should sit in one of the garden chairs and gaze at the fountains. Or you can imagine yourself as Colette in an apartment on this pretty square protecting her husband from the Nazis during WWII. This is a gorgeous part of the city, at least a walk through.Written January 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
