This place was probably the most spectacular inner-city gardens I have seen. Jardins de Luxembourg was the name, and it apparently was an old castle/mansion whose owners donated the gardens to the City. (I did not know it at the time of our visit, but learned that the French Senate now uses the mansion as its seat.)

Green grass fields, flower-filled gardens, pathways, trees, tennis courts, sandboxes, merry-go-rounds, horse-back riding for kids, to name a few of the amenities. In the center was the mansion with the grounds fronting it - a huge fountain/pond, statues, and well-manicured lawns. While it did not seem crowded at all, there were probably thousands of visitors and children enjoying the park. Even though tired from the long walk, we had fun exploring many parts of the park. It even had a small-scale Statue of Liberty with a plaque noting the history of the statue and the gift to America.

It would be best if you visit the garden during spring or summer, as it will be more vibrant. We when there two times, but it was cloudy and part of garden were not accessible as they were renovating.

The place is really beautiful and I recommend to visit it in the morning. It’s close to the Louvre, Musée d’Orsay and Musée de l'Orangerie.

One of my favorite things to do in Paris is to take a long walk in this elevated park. It used to be a railroad line stretching out to the suburbs, long abandaoned, but then turned into a lovely linear park. It connects up with a couple of other much wider parks further east and one can walk all the way out to the Peripherique. Some clever planting along the way.

Come and hang out here like Louis XIV did when he was a kid. He played in the fountains. You should sit in one of the garden chairs and gaze at the fountains. Or you can imagine yourself as Colette in an apartment on this pretty square protecting her husband from the Nazis during WWII. This is a gorgeous part of the city, at least a walk through.

Visited for the annual illumination show over the holidays - a nice light show with a theme that changes annually. Worth visiting for the annual light show (usually goes for a few months during winter months), and then seeing the gallery as well. A very good setup and nice for walking through at night for the light show, but also during the day. Lots of history here as well and you're right by the Natural History Museum too. Easily accessible via 10 Line metro (via Austerlitz station or Jussieu). Good for all ages - stroller and handicap chair accessible.

Left over from a big international expo, this is a big space with massive fountains (be careful on a windy day you could get wet) and some elaborate landscaping. The Eiffel Tower looms over it. Magnificent town planning, makes for a long stroll, and can be hot in the sun.

This is a very pretty little park at the west end of Ile de la Cite, down below Pont Neuf. Great place to sit and admire the river and bridge views, look up at the Louvre. When the river is very high, it gets flooded.

My twin brother Stephen and I were heading to Le Cabonan for some beers on a beautiful spring afternoon and passed through Square Des Batignolles ,a park I always enjoyed visiting on previous holidays to Paris ,always thought this park was beautiful but on my latest visit it looks even more beautiful .
Quite a large park area ,it covers roughly about four acres ,lots of interesting features in the park ,water features including a mini waterfall ,fountains, glasshouses ,carousel and a cafe ,well laid out garden area's,it's a very historic park being laid out in 1879,through the park is a walkway called Allee Barbara named in honour of singer Monique Andree Serf ( 1930-1997 ) who mentioned Square Des Batignolles in some of her famous songs which is a path that brings you through the park letting you take in the great views ,in the park are all manner of wildlife such as ducks and giant carp ,it's just a great park to check out if you're in the vibrant Quartier Des Batignolles .

Located close to the beautiful place des Vosges, this garden is a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle.

Walk through the well kept small garden, chill, have a look at the buildings around and leave through the huge portal/porte cochère.
(Palais/Hôtel de Sully couldn't be visited inside, but garden is free to visit).

Great place to do a picnic or to bring children to play.

You will be greeted by a huge atmospheric weather balloon (gigantic) in the middle of the park. This is surrounded by a 1.5 metre waterway (there abouts) where children bring their toy boats to play with.

You can see the top of the Eiffel tower from this park (it is very close to it). France TV building is almost next to this park too.

There is a children playground and a couple of ping pong tables (bring you own racquets and ball). There is a cafeteria next to the big balloon with the usual drink offerings (no alcohol) and quick snacks.

Walking around the wonderful 3rd Arrondissement on a beautiful spring afternoon I passed through Square Du Temple-Elie Wiesel and what a great find.
Established in 1857 , this was one of 24 city squares created by George Eugene Haussmann and Jean Charles Adolphe Alphand .
This park stands on the site of a medieval fortress built by the Knights Templar ,used as a prison during the French Revolution and eventually demolished in the 19th century ,today it's a beautiful park area that's just so serene ,it's named in honour of renowned Romanian born American writer ,professor ,political activist ,noble laureate and Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel,it's most definitely a park to check out if you're in the area and easy to locate along Rue De Bretagne .

We have been there just after noon. We found it nice that a lot of people came here to eat their lunch. A place to calm down in busy Paris.

Best known as the regular site of a book fair. Former site of a slaughterhouse, thus the statues of beasts at the entrance. A newer park on the edge of Paris.
