Just avoid touristic areas: they are expensive, specially restaurants. Back street restaurants are just as good as are cheaper hotels. Try the Jean Bart hotel in the 6th district close to the Luxembourg Gardens, great if you travel with children.

What can you say about one of the most famous museums in the world? It is beautiful, amazing, and overwhelming! This place has everything! From every era of human kind, especially the western world, they have an exhibit or artifacts that represent that time. You can spend hours looking at paintings, sculptures, jewelry, etc. Make sure you reserve and early time slot or join a tour group before coming. Because if you don't, you'll wait in a long line to get in.

A beautiful bridge, rain or shine. On overcast days the gold stands out even more. Ample photo opportunities. If you’re only going to visit one bridge, make this that one

Built by Henri IV as a harmonious development for the well-to-do. The gorgeous square has never lost its panache. The sides match, the fountains flow, and even in cold weather, lots of people come here to enjoy, or to shop or eat under the arcades. Some nice hotels here, and Victor Hugo's house. It always takes my breath away.

It’s very busy, even in the middle of winter. Some exteriors, such as LV, are very impressive. Not necessarily a good place to shop for the “average” person, but worth a look.

This Paris landmark was amazing! Highly recommended. We went alone but happily stumbled upon Raphael, a private guide who knows every square inch and every historical and hysterical fact about the cemetery’s interred. He led us around and made our visit incredibly memorable. (That’s him on the left)

I highly recommend a long leisurely walk all around the island, maybe at night. The architecture is lovely and 18th Century. And the views of the river are classic. We once lived here and it was a village then. Now it feels like the Land of Ice Cream, but the stunning buildings and urban design remain. Spend some time here.

I loved everything about the Shakespeare bookstore. An amazing collection of books with a great atmosphere. It’s a must visit if you are interested in reading.

This is the best place to view the Tour Eiffel and to take some photos. Take the Metro to the Trocadero station and walk to the platform that looks over the river to the Tower. You will be amazed. And there are a couple of good and surprising museums in the buildings on either side. Plus some good food and cafes around the traffic circle.

La Madeleine ( Church Of Sainte Marie Madeleine ) is a great looking Roman Catholic Church located on Place De La Madeleine that's always a joy to visit on any holiday I take to this most vibrant and beautiful of city's.
Constructed between 1807-1828 ,the work of architect Pierre Alexandre Vignon ,it's in my opinion the best example of Neo Classical style architecture in the city of light,it's designated Monument Historique meaning it's one of the great buildings of the city .
I love the look of the building ,the impressive columns ,the wonderful reliefs ,the general look of the building,it's just an amazing church building to view ,it's easy to locate on Place De La Madeleine and well worth checking out if you're in the area.

I think this is the best market street in Paris. Left over from the big Les Halles days, there are all types of food shops along this street, plus a great collection of restaurants. At happy hour, all of the cafes fill up with youth. Great place to buy and eat food, very little traffic, one of the hearts of the city.

Though its origins are from medieval times, the current church dates to the 17th century. It's beautiful inside, with the soaring arches and crisp white stones you expect from Parisian churches.

Located right behind the Pantheon, this church houses the shrine of Saint Genevieve, patroness of Paris, who according to legend saved the city from the ravages of Attila the Hun.

Hold on to your head here as this was the place the big guillotine was set up for the temporary end of the nobility. No more blood in the streets, but now a huge traffic circle, a bit chaotic, with very grand buildings and sculpture all around. Near the Louvre.

This is a sumptuous building that was burned down during the Commune era and then rebuilt in a similar style. Very elaborate. It is fun to walk around and walk through. Check out the possibility of a show at the free museum here, the shows are terrific. And it's the city hall, a working building.
