The church of St-Germain l'Auxerrois was built in the 13th century, replacing the original church of the 5th-6th century. It was subjected to major modifications in the 15th and 16th centuries.
The exterior of the church has elements of Romanesque, Rayonnant, Flamboyant Gothic, and Renaissance architecture, and the interior (dating from the 15th century) has a central nave, a choir, a transept, and aisles along the nave with several chapels lining them.
The most beautiful chapels are the Chapel of the Virgin, the Chapel of the Tomb,
the Chapel of Saint Landry of Paris, the Chapel of the Saints Patrons.
Paintings, frescoes, retablos and stained glass windows can be seen around the church.
