My wife and I visited Wild Discovery for the first time to celebrate her birthday. We booked the capybara experience.

The experience itself was well worth it. The two capybaras (Larry and Moe) came right up for food and scritches, even sitting right by our feet for the duration of the experience. Our guide, Joseph, was very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of facts about the species as well as Larry and Moe. If you think you'd enjoy getting close enough to cuddle a capybara, I'd definitely recommend this.

We also spent quite a lot of time chatting with a keeper called Gary who did the bird talk. He took lots of time to talk just to us about the birds and other animals he works with and really went out of his way to make it an enjoyable and interesting visit.

The lady at reception was also very helpful and friendly as we arrived, and when we bought some reindeer feed.

The bat room is also worth a visit if you want to get very close to them, they literally fly right past your face and you can get a very close look at the bats.

It's not a huge zoo but there is a lot of variety in animals there and plenty of affordable feeding experiences and talks to keep you busy for the day. We didn't even mind it raining buckets in the afternoon. Also there are lots of options for food etc. that you can nip out to within Ribby Hall Village.

We'll be back to meet more of the animals!

Absolutely first class museum. A must for any vehicle enthusiast. Based in the old Leyland truck works. The volunteer staff (many of whom previously worked at the plant) were extremely helpful and insightful. Some of the exhibits are totally unique and all are very well presented. Highly recommended.

What a lovely place to visit! The cafe was worth visiting, the walk around the park and by the river was very good to stretch the legs and meet up with friends.

The Harris is a multi-purpose arts, library, archive, gallery, museum, tourist information and museum centre, and probably the most famous, recognisable of Preston City centre landmarks. How your visit goes depends what you are there for. The IT centre is currently restricting computer users to 45 minutes online time, for which we need to pre-book. It used to be a drop in at will and use the computers (library members only) for up to two hours. Hopefully this will be restored post covid. The main lending library itself is excellent, while the upstairs(there is a rickety lift) archive and history library has greatly reduced its stock in recent years. The museum and art galleries are tremendous, with many changing exhibitions. There are fixed exhibits too, most famously Horace (named in a competition by children), a huge skeleton of a prehistoric elk, complete with the human-launched arrow that brought it down. Sometimes the library can get rowdy when people loudly yelling into mobile phones are left unchallenged. Some security staff can be a bit of a jobsworth. One started giving me a guided tour of the gallery even though I was happy to look round at my own time and pace. There have been cases of people pulled up in the nearby Flag Market Square and asked if they were the ones being a nuisance on previous visits to the museum, even though they are not in the museum or heading there and were not anywhere near it on the days the supposed nusancings occurred (why not challenge disruption when it happens rather than some random later time and place? Overall, an invaluable resource for the people of Preston and to visitors to our fince city too.

My 9yr old son and I rode the Guild Wheel as part of a charity fund raising ride that he wanted to do in aid of Parkinson's UK. Being only 9, we thought it would be a sufficient challenge that would also be achievable for him and it was, completing the whole 21 miles in 2hrs 39 minutes!

The route is really nice and most of it tarmac path, with some small road sections and a little bit gravel path through Brockholes. It is mainly flat but about 2/3 round (going clockwise from Avenham start post) it gets a little bit up and down, but nothing to hard.

Signage was good and despite having only looked at it on a map, we easily navigated the whole way round.

A great route and my son raised over £1000 for a great cause!

Absolutely beautiful place for a walk, the view at the summit is lovely. Even though the car park was heaving, the walks were still pleasant and quiet. Shame to see it’s pay and display parking now but not too bad at £1 for all day.

Love it here and highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area and enjoy some scenery.

A great little museum tucked away in a picturesque village. Watch out for the activities laid on over the holidays, the children couldn’t get enough of the craft activities on offer. Don’t forget to visit the bathhouse and granaries a short walk from the museum itself

Went with my daughter to see our ex Double Cup hero Ali McCann play. We travelled all the way down from Perth to see him and the team we thoroughly enjoyed our day at Deepdale and will be back for as long as At Johnstone has that connection with Preston NE with our ex players etc.

Excellent museum. I don’t think they advertise this venue a lot, but it has so much to offer. Countless artefacts, uniforms, maps about battles, a huuuuge medal collection, historic photographs, stories, ranging from the late 1600s to today. Just amazing. My children are 7 and 11, and they loved it.
The museum is housed in the barracks in the centre of Preston, and was a little odd to just drive up to the barrier of a military base, but they let you through and after you park, you are met by a guide. Terry showed us around, and he was very knowledgeable and interesting to listen to.
We will be be going back here for sure, as we took our time, but could not see and read everything.
It is recommended to book a tour in advance, but we were lucky.

I returned to the church of my Christendom for Easter services. I'm filled with joy after my hellish night that I got to witness the awe and majesty of my good Friday.
My journey up the spire was a glory to behold.
