The distillery entrance is well adorned and welcoming. The shop offers many souvenir opportunities, including several great Kilbeggan whiskeys. Charlie was so welcoming and a fabulous guide, he has a great knowledge of all the displays. The setting is perfect. - Jraf10174 contributionsHaving done the Dublin side of this route as we were visiting Mullingar we decided to do some of the Mullingar to athlone route.
It was a very enjoyable peaceful cycle. Route is free from rubbish there is several benches if you wanted to stop off and chill. Plus it was good to see bins on the route if needed.

They are made of a gorgeuos green stone called Connemara marble, from an area northeast of Athlone. We had lots of access to the sensory room which is a great calming space. - aoddnDublin, Ireland4 contributionsWe parked at Streamstown and cycled from there to Ballinea where the Old Rail Trail meets the Royal Canal Greenway. It was a nice smooth surface all the way. We met a lot of friendly people and had plenty of chats along the way. We are looking forward to our next outing from Moate to Streamstown. The Greenway is well signposted and parking, cafe, water fountain and toilets at Streamstown.
