Had a great day out to meet Kevin at the Carlingford Leprechaun and Fairy Cavern. Kevin is a great character and a gentleman. It was great to learn about the folklore of leprechauns and the history associated with Carlingford. Kevin is a great storyteller and has a great set up with the underground cavern and the upstairs story telling room. Whether you're a skeptic or believer, it's a fun light-hearted activity and it's great to see an important part of Irish folklore and history being kept alive. There's also some great Leprechaun and Irish souvenirs that can be purchased at the shop which would be a great piece of Ireland for tourists to take home with them.

There isn't much to see here other than ruins that you find all over Ireland. What sets this apart though are the very large high crosses with all of the carving showing many stories from the Bible and life of Christ. It's worth a stop just for that.

I enjoyed my first visit n quite a few years to this beautiful Church in the centre of Drogheda. I was showing a foreign visitor aroud who was fascinated to see the head of St. Oliver Plunkett but I was quietly confident that he'd love rhe Church too once there.
Obviously everyone comes to see the head preserved in a glass jar to the front left as you enter. I remember doing in on a school your when I was about 9 years old! It's macabre but fascinating and they have a very interesting explanatory set of wall panels to rhe side.
The rest of the chirch is besutiful too, though and that's what's often forgotten. The stained glass in particular is very impressive .

This is an absolutely pleasant place to visit and I’m very grateful I had the opportunity to do just that!

The only downfall is that it’s not very accessible unless you have a car. My friend and I took an Uber to Mellifont Abbey from Drogheda and had to use the local taxi service to get back.

If you have the time and a way to visit though, I highly recommend that you do! It’s beautiful, peaceful, and is a great spot for prayer and reflection.

I was determined to do this wee journey as I have passed it so many times and never gone over. It was well worth he trip.

£27 for a car return journey seemed reasonable to me. We had a wee dog with us so one had to stay in the car with the pup. We took turns to look around. The crossing was only maybe 20 minutes each way but it was fabulous.

On the way over to Geenore we had nice sunshine so plenty of looking out to the mountains, Greencastle and the lighthouse. On the way back it was raining but that was OK.

The Lady taking money was lovely. She had treats for the dog and remembered me and the kids on the way home, asked about our day etc.

After hearing so many great reviews, The Taproom had been on the list for a long time. I went with my 2 children last Sunday evening and it was worth the wait! The setting is beautiful, with big old trees and twinkling lights. Inside, it gets even better thanks to the décor and the warm and welcoming fire. We had a variety of dishes - chicken wings, goats cheese balls, two different portions of the loaded fries, chicken goujons and a pizza. The kids found room for brownies and ice cream to finish. Everything was delicious. The staff are a real asset to this place - so friendly and lovely with the children. I look forward to my next visit and would highly recommend to families, couples and groups of friends.

This was the best experience I have been on and ive been on a few. Sarah and Elaine who run the tour are just amazing. So much information and whitty side jokes to go along with a wonderful gin experience. You get to hand craft your own gin all the while being given so much of their very own in the making process. Beautiful cheese and meats to eat for soakage as you will need it! We got to see different elements in how these beautiful gins arw made. Tips on what flavours work and what goes with what and the quality is amazing. I have literally told all my friends and family about this tour and we will definitely book again. Thank you for such an amazing experience with such a personal feel. We purchased other bottles while leaving of the Wise owl whiskey and inferno chocolate and chilli gin which they let u taste before you purchase. Well done Listoke Distillery 👏

What a pleasure to meet Cara and hear about her lovely home. We really enjoyed our time here and left feeling really delighted that we had been. There is something so much more inviting about visiting a home rather than a monument
