I love old buildings and this is no exception. Just the right mix of 'how it was' and enough information and background to maker it interesting.
It has been used in several shows so you may recognise bits.
Of course there are places you are not able to go, such as up high and down low but well worth a visit with helpful and knowledgeable Staff.

The last time I was here was 15 years ago and they stepped up their game! It was so cool to see how immersive they made the tour. I was a little worried that it was going to be like it was before where you have a guide lead you around but I loved that it was self paced and interactive. Great job!

We had such a great experience. George, our guide and expert is an incredible showman who will educate you while entertaining you. A great time that I recommend to everyone, young and old.

I did the Black Barrell blending class, led by Josh. I actually didn't mean to sign up for it. I thought I was just signing up for the regular tour and history and a couple of shots at the end. But my mistake turned out to be a great thing. Our group got an excellent introduction into the history of Jameson's and then a unique tasting class where we had the opportunity to create our own whiskey from the various elements that go into making the Black Barrell product. It was fun, tasty, and a great learning experience.

We ended up booking The Book of Kells Experience once we were in Dublin as a last minute add-on to our itinerary...after doing the Viking Splash tour in the AM, we got an Irish Coffee at a local cafe and headed to Trinity College for our ticketed tour.

It was cool just to be on the campus of Trinity College, something we may not otherwise had done while in Dublin. While seeing the actual Book of Kells is a very small piece of the experience, the entire immersive experience they have created was very well done - and I come from a background of creating unqiue experiences! I would actually highly suggest this if you are in Dublin, it was pleasantly surprising and I am glad we took the time and did it! ...and the pictures of The Long Room are cool, but being there is something else - quite the room!

This park is located in the centre of Dublin and opened since 1880..for me the actions that occurred during the Easter Week of 1916 were new to me and as I strolled along the outside circle path and then walked into the interior of the park I noticed the many sculptures and notices giving information about the Irish Citizen Army to overthrow British Governing Powers…there are numerous benches , visually stunning views of the trees and water features along with the historic events…

Alan took very good care of us and showed us and told us the history and anecdotes about the Irish rock scene. Alan is inspiering and know his stuff. Alan is also convinced that everybody in some way or another is connected to Ireland. 😀

This museum is super interactive, they even hand out passports to stamp. You get to hear many stories of different people who immigrated and why people have immigrated over the years.

Fun fact - If you want to taste your way through a huge range of Irish Whiskeys, and have already visited plenty of Distilleries in other countries, or maybe have just come off a good look around Jameson's or Teeling's, you don't need to go on a 23 Euros guided tour of Dublin's Irish Whiskey Museum to do just that!
The upstairs Whiskey Bar at the Museum, just across a busy main road from Trinity College, is open to anyone who just walks in off the street, and the knowledgeable Barman will point novices in the right direction, with plenty of helpful and impartial advice.
My evening in the congenial surroundings of the McDonnell's Whiskey Bar was not only educational and informative but also entertaining, as free live music was provided on Saturday night, when the bar stays open until 22:30 hours.
On the Barman's suggestion I began with the House 15 year-old Single Malt (a snip at EUR 16:50 or GBP 13:70) and moved on to the Connemara 22 y/o. Which is pretty much the last thing that I remember before waking up in my hotel room next morning with a slight headache!

This is a great place to wander and take in the history of Ireland.

Lots of artifacts - some more interesting than others as is always the case with museums in my experience, but the wall boards with the additional information and back stories were really appreciated and interesting.

Well worth a visit and it is free - although a contribution to their running costs is a reasonable request.

    Enjoy
