What travelers are saying
- nohassle1956gulf shores368 contributionsWe visited the highest cliffs in Europe this morning. Very nice. Plenty of parking at the visitors center. It cost 5 euros a person to catch the bus up to the top of the cliffs. From there you could walk higher to get a better view. Really special. We hiked around for a 1/2 hour and took pictures. Then back to the visitors center on the bus. Had tea and soda and apple pie at the cafe in the visitors center. Nice visit.Written September 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Aidan SSheffield, UK74 contributionsIt's so much more than the name suggests and so much bigger than the commonly used photos of the whitewashed cottages too.
Absolutely loads to see, a great experience covering rural Irish life, social history. The Troubles, religion and poteen.
There is an excellent guided tour, I dipped in and out of it as the dogs were getting bored, but I certainly wasn't. Totally dog friendly and in a beautiful setting. It started with the shuttle driver who was friendly and a great joke teller! The estate is marvellous with stunning scenery and there is a real feeling of history here. Special thanks to Janet in the gift shop for her warm welcome and efficient courteous manner and also to Hugh, one of the gardeners we spoke with as we toured the walled garden. They are a credit to the estate operation. Definitely a trip not to be missed when in the area.Written September 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Robert BDublin, Ireland2 contributionsAbsolutly beautiful scenery and fantastic views. Well worth visiting on a day trip around Malin Head. Hopefully you get the right type of weather as we did to see the wonderful colour of the north Atlantic ocean.Written August 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tony H14 contributionsWe visited the visitor centre and the castle. We walked to and from the castle from the car park. It's not too far and it is enjoyable to have the views of the Glen. The castle is worth a tour as are the gardens.
We are in the cafe at the castle, it was very nice.Written August 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Castle is basically in the city center and easy to access. It's not huge so you can see it all in about 30-60 min depending on how much time you spend reading the displays about the history, which we found to be very interesting. Well worth a stop over.Written September 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- sweety1960Kilkenny, Ireland100 contributionsFantastic beach but not for swimming. People go there to see the caves but if tide is in you can't access them. Also there is a 4 euro car park charge and 6 for vans etc.Written July 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KFM328uk3 contributionsI have been staying in the Mount Errigal on Business during April and May 2024.
What a wonderful Hotel, all the staff are very friendly and helpful.
However, I must mention one particular member of staff that currently works in the Bar Restaurant, her name is Orla.
Every time she serves me she gives a Masterclass on how customer service should be delivered!!
She is extremely polite, confident, friendly and so professional at all times; she is a credit to the hotel.
I will be staying at the Mont Errigal for the next couple of months and Orla makes my stay very special and enjoyable.

The garden centre at the beginning has a really good stock, then on into the animal park itself via a walkway of many interesting and amazing facts. And on to the animal displays themselves. There is a playground, there are covered picnic areas, and we spent a good morning here at Alcorns. There is also a lovely tea room beside this place, highly recommended.

We stayed the night in a self contained motorhome and went to sleep after the most spectacular sunset. No cars, no noise, darkness just the sounds of waves. I'm not the fitness of people but with breaks managed the steps. The walk on the beach was worth it. Arches, cliffs and caves to be seen. Well worth visiting.Written August 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
