The grounds of Blarney Castle alone are gorgeous. So many different plants, trees, and flowers, all perfectly maintained. The poison garden was a fascinating bit as well. The castle itself was brilliant. It's in decent condition for such an old castle, and there were many little panels explaining what each room was for. The stairs were narrow and winding, just as they were back then, and while that's not great for those who are claustrophobic it certainly kept it authentic. Up top, alongside some breathtaking views, was the Blarney Stone. There was a sizable line, even early in the morning, but the attendants were fastidious in keeping it sanitised between each person who kissed it. Does it give you the gift of the gab? No idea. I didn't kiss it; I'm a fighter, not a talker, so naturally I gave it a slap instead. I am yet to find out what effect that will have on my fighting skills. Will update once I know.

Plan a half day here! I don’t know what I was thinking. With all my trip research, for some reason I thought the “Blarney Stone” was in the middle of some field. At the last minute, we took a detour here on our way back from Killarney to Dublin. We didn’t have much time and once I realized how much there was to see and do on premises, I was disappointed I hadn’t planned better. Be comfortable with tight, high, windy spaces if you want to kiss the stone. There’s still plenty to enjoy here if that’s not your cup of tea.

What a sight to behold. You are situated in such a lovely spot with fabulous views. Once inside the church you will be amazed by the beautiful craftmanship, woodwork, and glass stained windows. This is a most beautiful Cathedral. A must to see

The Church of Ireland is right here in Blarney. Its a beautiful historic church right in town with an old cemetery in the back.

I have been shortchanged twice here and didn't bother making an issue as the place was busy. I wouldn't lower my standards. Also a colleague of mine paid for a monthly running pass for me which I never received. Nice trail but conveniently forgetting to hand out change?. People aren't fools. I wont support anymore.

We stopped at Blairs Inn after Blarney Castle for drinks. Its a lovely pub with outdoor seatings. The bar was well equipped and we enjoyed Murphys Irish stout.

Michael Turtle owns this excellent private driver and tour service. He and his staff offer private airport transportation and private transportation in County Cork and throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland. We appreciated their friendly, courteous service in their comfortable Mercedes sedan. Mr. Turtle also provided an excellent tour of Cork City on our way to the airport in Cork. Driving on the left side of the road can be challenging for those who are accustomed to driving on the right side of the road. We were very happy that ww decided to leave the driving to Executive Cars so we could relax, enjoy the scenery, and learn more about the culture and history from a competent and knowledgeable driver.
