We had the most wonderful experience at Tomatin with the most gracious host Fiona who is an absolute asset to the distillery.
Fiona made us feel welcome and our experience pleasurable, we walked away very happy

Really lovely river running through the heart of the city. I preferred the area around the river, lots of restaurants and bars. Pretty too as well as very majestic. We did the walk along and across the bridges and really enjoyed it.

Small but perfectly formed! Popped in during one of my many visits, as it's a place I had always meant to see. And I wasn't disappointed. Might not be the biggest museum you'll ever see, but the staff were very enthusiastic, and the exhibits painted a very interesting picture of local history over the millennia.
Speaking of paintings, they also feature a lot of work by local artists. A return visit is planned.

First of this museum is part of the Fort George. Second the museum is a history on a former Royal 👸 Regiment that belonged to the late Prince 🫅 Philip. Lastly, it is fun 🤩 place to go .

Nice short walking area around the locks. We did not have the opportunity to see a boat go through the locks…that would have make the experience even better. Lots of little local restaurants and shops surround the locks. There is a parking area near the locks. You pay to park with the machine. Credit card is needed. Fee to park is reasonable.

Some people may be dismissive of Inverness Cathedral as it is a 'modern ' cathedral. They are rather missing the point as it is historically important as the first new Protestant Cathedral to be built in Britain since the Reformation. It is also the most northerly cathedral in Britain.

I was given a warm welcome on entry and there wasn't a 'mandatory' £2 entrance fee when I visited although a donation or buying the guide book was appreciated.

I liked the cathedral which is a very good example of Gothic revival. It has a lovely carved choir screen which also serves as the war memorial to the members of the congregation who lost their lives in the First World War. Their names are inscribed on the bottom panels of the screen.

The carving on the choir stalls is exquisite and the Caen stone altar and reredos are stunning - take time to admire the workmanship.

There are some very good stained glass windows too.

The Butterfly Memorial is a touching tribute to those who died during the covid pandemic as well as a reminder to all of us of a black period in modern history.

There's a lot to find and enjoy in the Cathedral.

Great performance by Phil and Aly. Evocative, funny, foot tapping masterful musical performances taking one from joy to sadness from tune to tune.

We walked to the island on one side of the river crossed over and walked back on the other side of the river after visiting the island. There are plenty of benches to stop and rest and enjoy the scenery. Well worthy the time to walk. We would do again if in the area. We had no trouble finding parking (parked in a public parking lot).

Having an interest in Aleister Crowley/Jimmy Page and the history of the surrounding area I was very excited to find that Boleskine House was offering self-tours. The house itself is still under renovation but you can walk around it and the gardens and there are spectacular views of Loch Ness. The self tour had good audio commentary which was both interesting and informative. Would definitely recommend. Looking forward to going back next year to see how things have progressed.
