I've left good and bad reviews for this place in the past. The biggest change since my last review is that the American pool tables have been re-covered. The result is a mixed bag. It's clear that the tables are looked after better, but still somewhat below the standard that the SAM steel tables could play at. The cloth used is Andy 900 cloth for half the tables, and Andy 988 for the others. Andy 900 is designed for extreme humidity, and plays way too fast, and holds too little spin otherwise. If you play well, you'll certainly notice the difference. The Andy 988 cloth plays far better, and the difference in speed between the tables is immense. Good players will also be frustrated with couches and rails interfering with stance and stroke on some of the tables.
The current staff appear to be friendlier than before, and the place is generally OK, but it still doesn't have the greatest atmosphere. So, it's still a long way off what it could be, but a significant improvement.
