- Chrissy309Shrewsbury, UK228 contributionsWhat can I say......My friend and I visited the info centre every day, for a week, looking up trains, buses and general information. I have to say, Belfast is a very confusing city, so their help was very much appreciated.
I thank you.Written October 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Otherwise the river mudflats are exposed and were considered unsightly as well as emitted a strong odour, particularly in the summer months.
This engineering marvel also supports a lovely steel and glass bridge over the river. On a clear day, there's great views of the River.Written February 11, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was only when I later befriended the DJ in a bar around the corner I was granted entry when I later told door staff I was meeting him there. If any management from Kremlin is reading this, consider signing up to my website: FAG ZONE where visitors to Belfast may be guaranteed entry. - A MBelfast, UK1 contributionI was in Belfast with my daughter and her friends who were all part of a dance team auditioning for Britain’s Got Talent on Sunday 20th Nov. After the audition we decided to grab a snack and a treat before the drive home. We decided to go to Roast, what a mistake.
On arrival we were handed a menu containing numerous laminated pages tied with a piece of string, as it stated clearly this was a temporary measure we were willing to proceed.
We took our seats and waited to be served, within a reasonable time the waitress asked for our order………. Our first selection was unavailable, as were a number of alternatives, on questioning the waitress on the choice and availability she relayed our enquiries by shouting across the café to staff serving behind the counter….not good!
We decided to keep it simple sausage roles and a filled soda…..anybody surely can get that right, how wrong we were.
Our order arrived promptly, the children’s sausage rolls had been heated in a microwave! they were soggy on the top, excessively hot and a rock hard base. The filled soda was not toasted it also was soggy as it sat on a pool of water which had come from either the scrambled eggs or beacon that had been sitting in water (I had presumed that it would have come fried like most establishments) The pièce de résistance was when the children commented on the black colored spots on a sausage roll which on investigation turned out to be mold on the pastry and the sausage meat, clearly visible!!
I don’t often take to complaining, and generally vote with my feet but I cannot fathom how little effort went into the food prep and the lack of skill, basic food hygiene and staff capability it was a disgrace.
I brought the sausage roll to the counter to show to a staff member she promptly apologised threw it in a bin and said we won’t charge you for that! I returned to the table dumbstruck… We decided to leave, I complained further to staff behind the counter whilst waiting to pay, I don’t know who was in charge, but they apologised again blaming the supplier and decided not to charge for the food.
I don’t know what annoyed me the most the complete lack of ownership and empathy or the food. The staff felt by offering a few quid off the bill it would all be ok…… hence this note.
I will not be returning to roast.Written November 21, 2011This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
