What travelers are saying
- Chrissy309Shrewsbury, UK228 contributionsWhat can I say......My friend and I visited the info centre every day, for a week, looking up trains, buses and general information. I have to say, Belfast is a very confusing city, so their help was very much appreciated.
I thank you.Written October 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This is a beautiful, atmospheric location in the very centre of Belfast that grabs at your heart as soon as you enter. For anyone who is remotely interested in literature and history, this library is a must. And the cafe is great. I ordered cream of parsnip soup that was delicious to eat in a suitably artistic environment. I will definitely return!Written February 20, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Colette SDublin, Ireland20 contributionsI visited with a US group of twenty. Robbie met us at the front door, full of life & fun. It's a beautiful centre, "as Gaeilge".
The dinner was beautiful tender beef, fresh veg & delicious gravy. Wonderful flautist played throughout dinner on the side.
Then through to the main event with dessert. The MC was funny, wise and a great story teller. The Irish dancers did not disappoint. They were fabulous. Members of the audience were invited to join them dancing. They did extremely well.
A really great night.

A beautiful looking building, a wonderful looking facade, red bricked, very photogenic, its a building that's most definitely well worth a few minutes of your time if you're in the area and easy to locate along Royal Avenue.Written February 2, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We had a wonderful weekend exploring the city and the north coast, but Monday and Tuesday I had to figure out what to do while she worked. Being a birder from Wisconsin, USA, I started googling birding places near me and came upon your great little birding hotspot! I loved being there and felt so at home...like if I lived in Belfast, you'd be my friends! One gentleman in particular was great fun to talk to and I regret not getting his name so I could personally thank him. Thank you all for a most enjoyable morning! I loved seeing Shelducks with about 25 babies, Black Tailed Godwits and so many Black Headed Gull babies! Mostly, thanks for making me feel welcome. - dpcbeechBelfast, UK144 contributionsI have been a member of this Library since childhood, and despite having their budgets cut and the knock on effect that this has had on their stock, it still manages to hold its own in a world which is becoming devoid of new readers! The staff are very friendly and good at what they do. Despite its small size it still thrums with activity! It’s an Oasis of calm, in a busy cyber world!Written August 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- JenneratorUnited Kingdom7 contributionsOf all the East Belfast libraries I feel this one is the friendliest. I love that CS Lewis square is located so close and the statue of the wardrobe from his Narnia books. I love that they often feature CS Lewis displays. They have the computerised borrow and return system, plenty for children (they have a designated area) and a reading area for papers and the computer suite is in a separate room. There’s rhythm and rhyme running weekly and plenty of open space to work. My only criticisms would be the very limited variety in genre of fiction and the lack of parking. The main genre of fiction seems to be crime. I feel they are catering for a very specific and limited audience. There are two disabled parking spaces and a four regular spaces which are crammed into a very small space. At busy times it’s very difficult to get in and out or get turned and it’s situated beside a very busy doctors surgery car park which rarely has spaces.Written December 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
