We had a drive around the Shankhill area with our taxi driver before being dropped off at the hotel, lots of new murals since we last visited with the one of King Charles & a lovely one of the queen, still an area of intrigue with the political backdrop it has.

Fun to see the Big Fish while you're out walking Belfast. There are three seal statues nearby that are fun too! There's construction nearby the seals right now, so a gate between you and the water views.

We knew that there was no guided tour that day, but as the place was open we went to see it for ourselves. We found it so interesting seeing all the people who had been there, from all those who had died, and all the children with their ages, who had lived there. We were the only visitors so enjoyed seeing the various rooms and plaques, without interruption. On entering we were given a leavelet about Clifton House, which helped us enjoy the visit.

Quite an imposing & impressive structure, not worth going out of your way for but certainly worth closer inspection if passing by!

We visited this church while on a "Black Taxi" tour of Belfast. This church is huge, with marble columns, an enormous pipe organ, and a massive Rose Window. Lots to see here!

Small house down side street - nothing special unless you are a big Van Morrison fan. Interesting to see surrounding area, especially Crypus Avenue.

Presently in use on a ship refurb, not often you get to see them so close together. Up close they are more impressive and yet can be seen from a distance if a walk is not for you.

Attended Acoustic Picnic for the first time. Excellent event. The 6 year old had a ball! A great family event. Bring your picnic. The bar is open for drinks and snacks. Live music. And great for networking and finding out about other events. Thankyou Caoimhe, Youth Co-Ordinator for taking time to chat!

The Cornmarket area has a good selection of shops in Belfast offering a wide variety of shops - some brands and some independent.

Do not miss the windows if you are a GoT fan! They took us 90 minutes and we did them first thing in the morning. There were no crowds and we had the walk to ourselves. We parked at The Titanic Experience and did the first couple of windows past the Titanic building, then backtracked all the way to the pedestrian bridge. Over the bridge to see the last one (Stark window).
Google maps Glass of Thrones will show you the locations.
Each one has a little plaque to tell you about them and if you take photos of both sides, you will notice the colours are more brilliant on one side due to the sun position.

Built as a symbol of hope in troubled times, this very large statue of a female form carrying a large hoop is an eye catching addition to the waterfront of Belfast. Central location and easy to get to, it is good for a photo stop.
