- Climber634087220112 contributionsWonderful trip despite the fact that 1) it was very rainy and extremely windy at the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge, and 2) we had to detour away from the coast as a result of landslides along that route. The weather cleared for both the stop at Carrickfergus Castle and for the two hours we were able to spend at the Giant’s Causeway (and at the pub nearby). Drive/tour guide provided great narration for the trip. Great way to see the north coast of N. - ACar YCalgary, Canada3 contributionsThis tour took my reservation even as a solo traveller. The "Black Taxi" company canceled on me in the early morning of the day of my tour so I booked these guys the last minute and they came through for me-literally booked at 3am and the tour was at noon.
I loved that they offer pick up service, firstly. As well, the guide and driver, Barry, was very friendly and immensely knowledgeable (also has has real life encounters and experience with the history of violence in Belfast).
We drove through the city and saw various murals, the peace wall, and memorials. I went in knowing very little about Ireland's history and left feeling like a history major, with all the information Barry shared with me. I even got some tips on my upcoming tours, where to eat/drink, and movies to watch about Ireland.

Now, though, wanting to understand this part of history, we decided to take this black taxi tour while in Belfast. Great decision. Our driver and guide, Mark, lived on the streets affected during this hot period. He gave us an even-handed, factual account, full of interesting details and supporting history. Ricky showed up right on time, and we set off on our private (6 in our group) tour of Northern Ireland. We had plenty of time at each stop, and we weren’t limited by tour bus schedules. We even had a relaxing and delicious lunch at The Nook at the Giant’s Causeway. It was a spectacular day, filled with very personalized service. Ricky is incredibly professional and personable. He is fun, easy to get along with and full of knowledge and interesting facts!
