We had a family outing to this park on a hot Saturday. Having lived in the Surrey area for a while, I did not know about this park. Boy, I have been missing out. The story behind this park and all the different trees made for a great experience. I especially loved the big redwood trees featured in this park -they are massive!!! A great picnic spot (also a good place to have an outdoor wedding).

Feel like a walk by the Pacific Ocean? Try Crescent Beach in South Surrey next to White Rock. Once you find a parking spot, you will enjoy your relaxing walk by the water and admire some homes that back on to the walkway.

This is one of the major border crossings between British Columbia & Washington State. The gates are always open and the park on both sides is beautifully manicured and maintained.

I'm visiting from the U.S. and, during my stay, I've driven past Green Timbers several times and wondered what it looked like inside this huge forest-like park. This morning, I had an opening in my schedule, so I parked just inside the entrance on 100th. Parking was plentiful and free. There is a trail map posted at the park's entrance. To orient myself, I walked an easy trail (<1 mile) around the lake and enjoyed some breathtaking views. I returned to my car, took off my winter coat, stretched, and then re-entered the park to run the first part of the trail, then continued south to 96th. After running eastward on 96th, I discovered a winding, narrow trail that led back into the park and found my way back to the lake and, eventually, the parking lot. How lucky Surrey residents are to have this beautiful oasis nearby!

Been going here for years and never disappointed. Good for kids and dogs. No need for any security or policing, everyone is considerate of everyone else.

Lovely park with hard packed trails meandering through woods, along creeks with fish (salmon will spawn in November), and through meadows. Includes places to enjoy breaks on benches or enjoying a picnic on solid picnic tables.

Popped by one day and were able to tour the house and grounds. I hope one day to enjoy a tea time with their baked goodies I’ve heard about if they offer this again one day.

Visually attractive and doesn’t impede the surrounding views. When we travelled through on a Friday afternoon we were kind of surprised that the traffic flowed well.

So much fun and the animals are so sweet. I love Hagrid the Bunny and the Silkie rooster. Also me and the golden pheasant had quite the conversation going on, I would recommend to any animal lover.

Have now been in this area 3 times (cold season only so far) and each time I discover more. They have good overall shopping places and lots of good restaurants that will definitely meet your price and taste range. Once summer comes, I am looking forward to walk around once warm weather comes by.

Wow, what a wonderful place to visit. Super friendly volunteers, a nice trip into history, very interesting shop tour, and a well stocked gift shop to finish off. I will be back!

When someone says "Island", our imagination tends to get wild and hope for something great. Well, Barnston Island is not one of those picture perfect scenic islands that one might wish for. It is an islet on the Fraser river and you have a Ferry to ferry you across. That is pretty much it!

    The Good:
-It is interesting to know there is an islet and the ferry ride adds an experience
-The islet has a 8-10 km circumference and so the trail around it is adventurous
-There are farms on the way with farm animals (goats, donkeys, horses) ... a definite excitement for kids

    The Bad:
    - The ferry is small and can accommodate only 5 cars max. The staff were a little rude and non-cooperative. Very rare in Canada.
    - WARNING : The residents of the island are "touchy" as mentioned by one of the residents. They do not prefer tourists and so are not very welcoming if you stare at the farm animals or try to pet them. Make sure you only bike/walk/drive around and leave the place. No resting on the lawns etc. I understand their plight, since there have been instances of tourists barging in, camping, barbecuing etc on their properties. I think they have the right to get upset. So be WARNED.

Have been enjoying the buffet at the track for a few years but lately the selection had diminished. They even try to upsell the prawns for an extra $15.00
Salad bar, desserts and soups still ok.
Our customer food coupon quantity card has also been discontinued.
Selection just not up to old standard.

We like this park because it hasn't been overdeveloped, and is pretty much natural. The walkways are very well established, even people with walkers would be comfortable. The washrooms seem quite new and clean.
The dyke bike path is awesome, well surfaced, and wide. If I had a gripe it would be that there aren't enough benches to give a nice place to stop, relax, and enjoy the environment.
The parking lot is well established but doesn't really provide space for all the adventurers in the growing population.
Overall I'd give it a 10 out of ten for experience, and an 8.5 out of ten all around!
