Always enjoy this compact busy neighbourhood with lots to do. Enjoy Garry Point Park to the west, where the kites take advantage of the wind; and the funky small businesses on Moncton. But, the jewel in the crown has to be the waterfront and the small fishing boats. I bet movie makers could use this site for Nova Scotia or Newfoundland. If you are visiting the Vancouver area, come see what I mean.

When you visit Vancouver, you should enjoy the Steveston area .... And don't miss the visit at the Cannery. This museum is amazing. The staff is so kind, and you can join a guided tour with passionate people. When you visit the building, you can actually feel the atmosphere of hard working among all those salmons and fishes... All the processes are carefully explained.
The museum shop is great too.

Cherry blossoms are in full bloom signifies the beginning of the Spring season. We can expect sunny days in the coming weeks. This is one of the perks of driving around during the Spring season. These gorgeous flowers delight people all over Richmond City mostly on the roads and residential gardens.

This year the Cherry Blossom Festival was held last April 2 at Gary Point Park. It is a waterfront park, a quiet place with amazing views near Steveston Village. It’s great to have wonderful activities whether a stroll in the park to relax, have fun playing games, or family picnic bonding. It’s also ideal to enjoy the charming Sakura Cherry trees by taking photos and admiring their beauty. This week, most of the Cherry Blossom trees are in full bloom so it'll be wonderful to drop by before they're gone in the next two weeks.

Beautiful and peaceful place to visit, reflect and pray. Unfortunately it was raining when we went so it was a quick walk around the main area and not in the gardens. We would visit again if we are back in Vancouver.

We visited in November when there are fewer activities available. The staff on site were still very enthusiastic and friendly (despite the chilly weather). There is a ton of information to sift through about the shipping and the canning industry as well as different ethnic groups who worked in both industries.
You can spend hours here or even just breeze through and enjoy the historic buildings and lovely Fraser River scenery.

Was here 7-8 years ago, I was in awed over lots of Asian stores and restaurants in a mall. US don’t have anything like it. Now the mall just not as exciting, maybe Covid, stores empty , especially 3rd level.

I met a super hot Asian guy in Under Armour store in August 2018. He was working there and I wish I talked to him...

Arrived around noon to find the parking lots packed. Actually, not that surprising after four days of rain. Unlike the many forested parks we locals enjoy in dryer times, I have come to avoid dirt trails in most parks, as they have turned to mud! The gravel base and good drainage here is ideal for a stroll in Vancouver's rainy season, as can be attested to by the large crowd.
Other positives: this is a straight line 4 km walk with views unlike those you will see anywhere else in Vancouver. Imagine looking EAST to the airport and watching planes take off. Look south to the ferry terminal and north to UBC - I know; different, eh? For us old fellas, there's a porta-potty at the far end, and a proper bathroom at the parking lot.
So, even in winter, consider this good gravel base a great place to catch up on your steps.

This little building is also the post office to many in the community of Steveston. It is part of the Steveston Historical Society & there’s lots to look at....there’s a lovely park beside the building & also a museum in the back. It’s a great little building on Moncton Street.

This was a fantastic experience to view first hand Olympic medals and cauldrons used over the past 50 years or so to light the Olympic torch. Extremely interesting to see the Nazi propaganda that was the 1936 Berlin games. Many interactive activities for old and young to enjoy firsthand. Great films to help you better understand the Olympic sacrifices athletes must do to prepare. As an American, found it fair and also many American athletes were featured. Of course the Canadian Hockey team is front and center!

... little kids at heart. If my 18, 20, and 21 year old kids enjoyed it with the covered slide, zip line, super tall climbing towers, and more, I can only imagine how real kids would react. Public washrooms available as well. A neat hidden gem.

Nice place to stay but is away from everything, which is may be an inconvenience to some.
Only one Valet most of the time which can be frustrating. House keeping every three days, I think due to COVID?

We stopped by for the first time just over a month ago. We enjoyed it so much we returned a couple of weeks later. On the first visit we just stayed close to the feeders and watched the small birds. For the second trip we took the long loop trail. It wasn't very interesting but it was a nice level walk.
The feeders attracted woodpeckers, hummingbirds and many other small birds. We are trying to improve our photography skills and this is a great spot to do that. Also, the caretaker is a very friendly and knowledgeable guy who shared alot of information with us.
The parking area is quite small. On our first visit we had to park over on Shell Road and walk back along the shoulder of the road to get to the entrance.
