The site of the first Mission in Baja California Sur with an interesting history, reputedly the first olive tree in BCS, a pretty little village and a beautiful winding 30km drive with spectacular views.
This trip to the mission was worth it even just for the magnificent road that winds its way through the Sierra Giganta; every turn is a surprise, a breath-taking view.

Church of Saint Luke Cabo San Lucas
The landmark is the main church in Cabo San Lucas and an excellent place to view local architecture as well as observe local traditions.
Spoken in Spanish and with a small village tone, the front pews are usually filled with tourists and the side buildings (out of main view) are filled with locals.

In addition to being a very interesting historical site there is a wonderful view of the river and all the palm trees planted by the padres so long ago.
Be sure you walk to the back to see the wonderful views from the observation platform in the back of the property.
It is a small church, but heck, the site was established in the late 1600s, so they were working with what they could manage to get locally after that long journey from Spain.
Small but calm and cool and a great spiritual respite from vacation activities - this authentically rebuilt church is on the site of the original FIRST mission in the Californias.
