Matukad is one of my favorites out of the multitude of islands that are available to tour within the area. This island features a large rock feature which can be climbed to give a beautiful view of the beach front and surrounding area. There is also plenty of shade on the island, for a picnic or to escape the scorching sun. The beach is very fine white sand with beautiful torqouise water. Truly a paradise!

This is a stopover on the Short Boat Trip itinerary. Regulated cost of 1500 pesos per boat paid for at the Tourism Desk on Paniman beach.
Clean sand, clear water, coral rock formations it really is a scenic spot for pics. One beach has calm water which is where you drop anchor whilst the other shorter beach can be quite choppy.
Probably okay as a lunch stop but finding any shade will be dependent on when you visit.

This visit serves two purposes: 1. recall the first time I was here doing community organizing with my university peers and mentors in the late 1980s when this place was being built and 2. retrace my steps in Tabgon and Caramoan

If you have no religious affiliation, take the steps up the grotto then appreciate the view and the faith that moved the people here to build this up the mountain. And, if you are Catholic and a devotee of the BVM, add this as your pilgrimage in your Caramoan trip.

I like this island. It has clear sea water and white sand. This is ideal for swimming for the sea is calm.

The beach itself is not really used by beachgoers probably because it is not geared toward tourists. When the sun is hot the sand is hot. At one end are a number of basic bungalow accommodations which is where I stayed. About a 15 minute walk to the village area.
The village as a few small shops, two souvenir shops and one nice restaurant across from the beach. It is here you will find the Tourism Desk on the beach waiting for customers to book and pay for island hopping boat trips. The Short Tour is to the Maralad Group and the Big Tour is to the Manlawi Group.
