A really fun place to go with any age! Our kids are 6-10 and there was something for everyone, including parents.

On of the best galleries I went to, I highly recommend visiting it. It’s a very unique and personal experience. Loved how it higlighted the impact and importance of first tribes in the BC history.

You can do this museum easily in an hour. One floor was under construction when we visited. There was an interesting exhibit about the forgeries of MacDonald paintings. The lockers are free and convenient to use.

The St Roch ship there (from 1928-54) and it’s history pre WW2 and during, is quite well done and is the icon of the museum. It came here from Halifax to rest when the city bought it, they dry docked it here, then built the A frame museum over and around it. The museum is quite nice, smallish, and worth a visit. In the long run, it’s curating is a bit dated now compared to high end museums with big budgets. We walked from Granville Island, along the water and past the large Vancouver Museum building.

Nice museum, a little on the small side, but gives excellent insights about the history of the native Americans that used to live and currently do live in the Vancouver area as well as British Columbia as a whole

An unexpected gem. This is really a very interesting museum not only about the history of the Vancouver police department but about policing. Great exhibits. Really well done.

This is a very well-designed and curated collection of displays that chronicle the Chinese experience in Canada from the 19th century to the present, brought to life through captivating personal stories. Highly recommended.

HUGE place for bikes and gear. I don't even ride, but it was astounding. Anyone could enjoy the mechanical artwork displayed here.

The gallery has a wide range of beautiful and interesting works by indigenous artists. Most works are modern, but there is a small selection of vintage and antique basketry. Works ran the gamut from ceramics to jewelry to sculpture. The prices put works outside of our budget, but if you a collector or just interested in looking, the gallery is well worth a stop while in Gastown.

(A tip: Don't go toward opening or closing times. We stopped by one day before the scheduled closing time and found the gallery closed. We came back at the scheduled opening time, but had to wait for the staff to arrive and invite us in.)

I wasn't sure that I'd like this museum after reading the mixed reviews, but we enjoyed our visit. We all learned a lot.

I agree it may not be in Vancouver's Top Ten but it'll be close up there! It was difficult to find. (Google maps struggled) but it was a good visit.

Recently moved from Gastown, but very accessible by public transit. Lots of beautiful art pieces, and also other Indigenous-made goods such as jewelry and wallets. Relaxing to browse the gallery. Knowledgable and friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit.

Awesome place. So many talented people at one place. Able to experience different mediums from multiple artists. Amazing to find original gifts for reasonable price. Once you walk in - you trully feels welcome. I agree totally - "The variety and quality of items they have makes this a fascinating place to support local artists. "
Perfect location too - now with available parking.

What a fantastic find this was, slightly off the beaten track on the hidden lake next to Stanley Park and close to the rose gardens. Fantastic volunteers told us so much about the local wildlife and were extremely passionate, knowledgeable and welcoming. We saw bald eagles flying above and baby swallows about to fledge. We were also told that if you visit at dawn or dusk you will almost always see beavers - wow! It is astonishing to think of beavers living in the city centre! Amazing! Well worth checking out! Top tip: if you enjoy your visit, consider making a small donation to keep this fab charity going!
