On the principal plaza, the mansion has been preserved in amber by Banamex, which also provides an excellent art museum (we saw the 1946 Yucatan photos of Armando Salas Portugal).
I enjoyed visiting this museum, especially since they had a special exhibit of photography from a famous Mexican photographer (forget the name) who traveled widely throughout Peru in the early 20th century.

The views from the old fort buttresses are excellent, and the museum inside has so much Mayan History with great artifacts.
Although a small fort compared to the Spanish forts in Cartagena or San Juan, it is still a nicely preserved edifice and also contains a small, but nice Mayan museum.
