I am writing this review more than 10 days after the tour. But I cannot stop thinking about the great tour by Bere. It was educational and thorough. She definitely has a passion. I’m glad this is the first thing that we did when we arrived in Guanajuato. It really helped get us oriented to the city. But what I remember most was that I observed Bere quietly show kindness toward people that are less fortunate. She did this more than once. If everyone was like her what an amazing world it would be. She is quite remarkable!

What a great experience! In 3 hours, we learned how to navigate the city, taking us through its meandering streets and pedestrian pathways. Mariana patiently answered all our questions and gave us helpful tips about where to eat for an authentic Mexican experience (and which places to avoid). It was a terrific way to explore the city without constantly using GPS on our cell phones. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, as you visit the most significant sites. Mariana is an energetic guide with a wealth of information about the history of the city. Highly recommended!

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant to be with. Even though there was a light rain he showed us more than what was expected.

We were visiting San Miguel de Allende and did not want to miss a visit to the Capitol and World Heritage City. Aaron our guide was so informative and we really covered the City, the beautifully restored Opera House, the City Market and other sites. We had an amazing view above the City via the funicular. We had a fabulous lunch and ended the day with a trip to a restored Hacienda with period furniture and decor. Aaron's English was exceptional as was his information and courtesy.

I loved learning more about Sr. Rivera’s fascinating life. He was such a talented trailblazer. Wow…the influences of his painter friends and the breadth of his talent. I also enjoyed speaking with our guide, Karla. She was very knowledgeable and I loved learning about her love of art. She made the tour most enjoyable.

Amazing experience, they teach you so much about riding. How to control the horse etc. then take you up to a mountain where the view is simply amazing.

Guanajuato is a fantastic place to visit, so rich in history and so full of nightlife. It's really a must-do in Mexico. We had a guided tour arranged by Estigo. We were met by our guide, Alejandro, and driver Javier in the morning, right at our hotel. I don't recall if this was supposed to be a "private" tour, but it was just us. The van was clean, very comfortable and the driver was appropriately cautious. We drove through many of the tunnels that flow beneath the city. The history and development of them is a whole tour on its own. Alejandro is a gem of a guide! Formerly an architect, he was steeped in the history of everything we saw and had lots of interesting stories about the architecture and development of everything we looked at. My partner was a little worried about descending into the "mine shaft." But it's not an active mine and is clearly safe, well lit and really interesting! It's fascinating to see these operations that were literally started 500 years ago!

As for Estigo, you will find so many operators in Mexico, but Estigo is great! Communications are steady and clear, any issues were quickly resolved. Prices are competitive and the service is great. Don't think twice!

My husband and I are living in Guanajauto for one month and we kept hearing about Raul being an incredible guide. We hiked Cerro de la Bufa with him yesterday and were not disappointed. He is very knowledgeable about the history of these incredible hills. We loved the hike but having Raul was just extra fun!
Truly a highlight of our stay.
Raul picked us up and delivered us back home, so easy! I would not recommend hiking Cerro de la Bufa without him.

Antonio picked my dad and I up from our hotel and drove us through the fantastic tunnel network running through the city. He was a font of knowledge about Guanajuato, so that even before we had reached the Bufa hills we had learned a great deal.

Our guide was very patient and conversational with us, telling us a great deal about the city's mining history, mummies, local plants and animals and sports teams, mesoamerican history and geological undergirdings, all while the area's scenery opened up as we ascended. This is a strenuous hike so good shoes and a walking stick are advised, especially for those worried about their knees.

Second time my wife and I used Catrina tours while in SMA, and they exceeded our expectations again. Communication and payment with Diego has been excellent. Our guide and driver showed up early, but did not rush us. Car was a very nice, clean, leather interior mini van (honestly, one of the nicer cars we've seen in SMA). Driver was cautious, thoughtful and timely. Our guide, Angie, was super gracious and welcoming. We had an option to take the same tour with a group, and we're very glad we did a private one with Catrina for a few of the following reasons: we saw views and tunnels we could not have seen in a larger bus, Diego Rivera museum was explained intimately so that we could hear easily and ask questions, local lunch spot was not one we knew, but was a highlight when we saw a quinceanera and wedding outside a church. Most importantly, having a private guide allowed us to maximize our time and wonder the streets without getting lost and adding multiple hours to a day that is already long. The private tour was reasonably priced and worth every peso!

We enjoyed our ride with Cruz immensely. Neither of us is an experienced rider but the horses were gentle and easy to handle (though my mount, Pompeyo, was occasionally a bit spirited and wanted to pull off to the side to munch some leaves. A nice little challenge for me to steer him back on course!)

The scenery was spectacular and Cruz was an excellent guide. You do need at least one Spanish speaker in your group, but the explanations about how to mount and control the horses are very brief and simple. (Mostly Cruz trusts his guess not to be idiots!)

The delicious homemade popsicles were a treat, as was the nice cold brew, enjoyed horseback, to celebrate the end of the ride!
