Coral World Ocean Park is a must do if you are visiting St. Thomas. My boys, 6 & 8, my husband and myself had a fun filled day - exploring, having a blast and learning about all the beautiful animals at Coral World. Our day started with my husband and older son adventuring the ocean during their Sea Trek (as my son put it, “Mind blown”) and my younger son and I got an up close and personal encounter with their South American Sea lion named Remo - who was as personable, as cute and cuddly as our puppy back at home. Both sets of excursions were truly remarkable & a once in a lifetime experience that I Highly recommend for all ages. (Sea trek does have some height & weight requirements to keep everyone safe :) we spent the rest of the afternoon at the park - we had delicious lunch at the Shark bar - my kids said it was the best chicken nuggets they ever had - saw the local iguanas then went to the other exhibits, we made it a point to make the most of the park and all the activities and talks they had for the afternoon - we watched the knowledgeable and very patient staff members feed sharks, feed sea turtles, enjoyed a Caribbean reef encounter, the underwater sea observatory was awesome, we viewed the dolphin sanctuary & got to see the dolphins in their sanctuary- on the dolphins terms - as they explained they don’t force the animals to perform or do any tricks which we appreciated. We got to see a behind the scenes look at the Sea Lion area - my husband and older son were able to view as it’s one of the planned activities, and you get a behind the scene look at the rehab effort the park and staff work towards on getting the animals that need the care back to the ocean. The Lorikeet aviary was a highlight, the boys loved feeding the cute birds nectar, and my sons new bestie is Kevin the porcupine fish. After we finished at the park we took a few steps to the right and we enjoyed the early evening at Coki Beach - the sea life there was just as incredible - tons of fish and fun for the family! We loved Coral World —- being from New York - my family and I have been fortunate enough to see many different aquarium and zoos - this did not have that vibe which was appreciated by us. This special place felt like a home for the animals and you could see how much all the employees loved the animals. We highly recommend visiting this pristine paradise!
