The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building Observation Decks offer one of the best free ways to enjoy breathtaking views of Tokyo. Located in Shinjuku, the twin towers feature observation decks on the 45th floors, providing panoramic vistas of the sprawling cityscape, including landmarks like Tokyo Tower, Skytree, and, on clear days, even Mount Fuji.

A really fun way to spend 30 minutes to an hour with Tokyo residents and visitors in the plaza to the East of the towers. Could be a bit of a trek from Shinjuku Station, but our group was staying at a hotel just a 5 minute walk away. We had also planned to see this on a weekend, since that's only when the Godzilla show plays, and it was really enjoyed by us G-Fans.

Truly unique area. The tiny streets and tiny restaurants are like nothing I’ve seen before. Each restaurant has a unique and delightful menu, just venture into whatever restaurant catches your eye. Be warned that a lot of them are cash only and there’s a ‘fee’ for sitting down - but you get an appetiser included in the price. It starts to get busy at around 6pm so try and get here around then. You want the bustling atmosphere!

The museum is fairly new and well organized. They offer a variety of exhibitions over a series of months. Most are deeply thematic or topic specific. For example, I just attended the Van Gogh Exhibition, which was specially a focus or study of Van Gogh’s still life works. The exhibit was very well organized, best enjoyed following their thoughtfully designed path. There are works by other artists of significance, but they are there to e enhance the understanding of Van Gogh’s work. The price was a bit high 2000 yen, but given how depth and breadth of the exhibition it is understandable.

Walk the streets here during the day then at night. A huge difference. It's crazy but it's all part of the fun. Lots of clubs and bars.

A normal department store in shinjuku if not for the New york perfect cheese stall in the basement food hall. I arrived 10:04am (department store opens 10am) and i was #34 in the queue

Food hall overall was very good as usual in japan. The rest of the floors with fashion are ok

Nice complex and hall facilities, so convenient with parking by car or close to Hatsudai station by train. The Tokyo Opera City Recital Hall was so nice for bit more casual audience too, but of course with good acoustics. Seems like they have a good line-up of performers. If you go, they also have a nice selection of casual restaurants and an open air atrium with a huge statue “Opera Man” that sings sometimes, and performers play.

I really like it! Good light show. I would go again! Maybe is good to have more publicity and more signs that let people know about the show!

Got to eat on the 52nd Floor, not sure of the restaurant name. Very traditional Japanese food and service in a relaxed setting. Fantastic views over the city

A small-ish shrine in Shinjuku's Central Park. It was a lovely visit as it was not overcrowded. A few locals came by during our brief visit there for prayers.
