Dog Mountain Saint Johnsbury
#1 of 26 Nature & Parks in Northeast Kingdom
What a quaint and peaceful place, until you have lots of fun dogs running at you to greet you as you find you way to the dog park/pond near the chapel.
There is also a 150 acre dog park and walking trails galore.
Lake Willoughby East Burke

We enjoyed a view of the area from the Sentinel Park at the top of the mountain.
There is plenty of space to park.

Mother Nature undoubtedly played a hand in Jay Peak being 100% open late March/early April, but give this resort a thumbs up for it's snow making capacity during other parts of the season and the excellent groomer...
It is truly a world class resort with major hotel options, indoor water parks and nice apres ski options.

A nice path along lake in town, turning north along east side of lake through some quiet streets and parks and school grounds.

The park was very well-kept, and Tom the park ranger was wonderful; very accommodating, friendly, and helpful.
(I enjoy snorkeling and swimming) Ranger Tom Walsh is happy to share this info and has guests well-being and the well-being of all the park as a personal goal.

If driving to Boulder Beach State Park and Owls Head Trailhead from south to north on Route 232, take a quick stop at lovely Ricker's Pond, just after you turn onto that road from Route 302.
So easy to park and walk up a short ways to a lookout.

There are trails all around the park, which is part of a cluster of state parks, including one nearby that does have a sizeable beach, but what I really wanted to write about is Liz Riley and the park staff.
... State Forest from Montpelier via Route 302 East, which will eventually bring you to the southern access point for Route 232, which runs through the forest and the various state park locations contained in it.

We love Vermont State Parks for camping because they are so well maintained and run.
Extremely kind and helpful staff got a beach wheel chair for the park, to make beaches accessible.
