It depends when they come in from fishing, some people arrive at 5 and wait until 7. But if you're going to Mangel Alto for the best snorkeling on the island, be sure to check it out. You can dicker on price, cleaning, cutting, etc. but be sure to take a bag. We've visited fish markets all across the Caribbean, and this one is the best.Written February 15, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our guide was a local gentleman with a great knowledge of the geography, flora, fauna, and overall culture of Aruba. We had a beautiful 3 mile hike though the Arikok National Park.
We saw some nice bodies of water and welcomed the shade and cooler temperatures of a mangrove. The was plenty of wildlife to see and birds galore, even animal tracks in the soft mud. As we walked through the semi arid climate we ended up on top of a small mountain overlooking Aruba. This was absolutely beautiful. This area was used to smelt gold and is now a protected monument where you can enjoy the ruins of past.
This was a splendid adventure!Written May 17, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was supposed to be just 4 of us, but when the rest of our crew heard what we had booked, the reservation grew to a total of 10. Shanon was very accommodating, and he checked in with me multiple times to make sure we had all the details and were ready for the trip. We met at Mangel Halto Beach. The trip was initially going to be through a mangrove tunnel, but I guess the surf close to the shore was a bit too rough for entry. We stayed out past the breakers and made our way with the current to our snorkeling spot. Everyone enjoyed the trip, the beautiful day, and the gorgeous surroundings. Shanon's right-hand man, Jason, was our second tour guide, and the two of them kept our group together and safe. I would highly recommend a kayak tour with The Shack Aruba, and I hope to someday make it back for a hike as well!Written May 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - aruba4Oranjestad, Aruba5 contributionsWent on a mother and son (8 yrs old) sunset kayak tour. It was calm, beautiful, relaxing. My son enjoyed looking for iguanas along the coast and into the super clear water for fish. It was a great activity for my son who loves adventure. It was easy for the two of us to paddle. Our guide was super nice and even took us to a dock out in the ocean where my son got to swim and jump of the dock. The sunset was super beautiful. Overall, we had a great time. Thank you!Written October 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Annelise E18 contributionsI was referred to Kenny by another local (Jeff Classic Tours), and it was amazing! I was the only person on the tour and he didn’t cancel. Other tours will.
We snorkeled at 3 locations: Baby Beach, Mangel Halto, and Tres Trapis. Yes we went tip to tip of the island!!! I’d been snorkeling a couple times before but as someone who doesn’t do it regularly, Kenny’s approach is the best. Wade in and swim out, no jumping off boats into the great blue unknown hoping there’s not something scary under you.
He’s warm and kind, and truly loves what he does! He has extensive knowledge about the wildlife, the corals, and makes a point of finding interesting things to point out to you.
No one else is doing a whole island snorkel experience. Book. You won’t regret!!Written May 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
