What travelers are saying
- Ellen G22 contributionsquite a fun experience. There are rankings of sake displayed on boards at the end of the shop. The recommendations don’t lie. The best sake really was the best tasting, one of the best sake i ever had. I don’t normally drink, but the amounts here aren’t enough to get you drunk, and the top ranked sake is really good, clean and fresh tasting.
The shop also provides salt which you can sprinkle on your palm to lick to cleanse your palate between tastings, however I didn’t do this as it seemed a tad unhygienic. Water is also provided if you need a drink between tastings.Written November 4, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Take the cable car and trek up to the cabin. Then continue along down on the other side (connects to the same train service once you are down). Hardly anyone does this second path so there are beautiful flowers everywhere. Perfect for a day trip out of Tokyo if you are fit.Written March 30, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Natalie CHk23 contributionsPretty nice ski resort with a variety of gentle and a bit steeper slopes to fit different levels. Views from the top was beautiful. Unfortunately there wasn’t much snow this year but Iwappara is among the few that are mostly opened (Gala was closed for 2 days due to strong wind while Yuzawa Kogen had not much snow when we were there). Great to be there for 2 days yet I guess people shall challenge another ski resort afterwards. An absolute surprise was the very nice Italian restaurant La Locanto at the ski resort. Great food. Great atmosphere!Written February 16, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Freddy L31 contributionsThe resort is very nice and has a lot options, many inclined slopes too, very suitable for families and expert skiers as well , BUT AT WEEKENDS IS SUUUPER BUSYWritten February 28, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - steve420Newcastle, Australia175 contributionsGreat for skiers but has some flat sections in some runs which may deter snowboarders.
Actually visited in February 2019 and 2020, but TA only allows 2021 selections, which due to Covid-19 was not possible.
Naeba and Kagura are enjoyable places to visit and ski.Written December 2, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. So instead we went to the snow park at the bottom of the ski resort for some sledding. Aside from sleds, they had those sled bikes which is cute. The tubing wasn't open yet when we visited, too early in the season and not enough snow as they reported.
Will definitely go back to the top when we have more time for our trip next time.Written January 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. If you come over from the Dragondola (the gondola from Naeba), then its about a 1.5 hour traverse to the Mitsumata side. on the way back, its much closer at around 30 mins. More advanced riders hit the backcountry from the gates at top. much less people than Naeba.Written January 5, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dale TRockhampton, Australia316 contributionsParticularly appreciated the knives for sale, the workmanship was high quality. The variety of sweets, gifts, sake and surrounding restaurants made for a pleasant stop over. Even had one of the three teenagers in tow interested.Written October 27, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Glenn KBrisbane, Australia73 contributionsFor Y2800 each it was quite a relaxing way to spend an hour or 2. If not skiing to the Naeba Dragondola Base Station you will need to catch a shuttle bus from the Prince Resort Naeba to the Dragondola Base Station. The trip on the Dragondola to Kagura was approx 20 mins each way with views of he surrounding countryside, sometimes from quite high up giving views of far-away mountains. The colours are winter whites, greys and pale greens, which would be nothing like the vibrant hues in spring or autumn. There is a also cafe at the Dragondola Kagura ski resort end.Written February 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Freddy L31 contributionsNaspa is not a big resort, but it have also two stepper slopes that are very nice, and if you go with your family you have a very easy slopes to enjoy the snow.
