If visiting it's worth also walking up the long drive at Kent well hall as it gives great views of the church .
It is a spectacular building, finished in 1484, on the site of a previous smaller church, which was on the sight of a Saxon church, which was reputedly on the site of a Roman temple.

On a visit to lavenham we walked up the hill to the St Peter & St Paul church,England's largest parish church,with the magnificent stain glass windows and stone arches to view it was well worth the walk.
Jonathan, of the Lavenham Priory, invited us to view the bell-ringing on the Sunday of our arrival.

There is a cafe on site selling delicious meals at reasonable prices, a farm shop which i would say is a little pricey but if you tend to buy local produce from farm shops i'm sure you'd find it reasonable.

Although "A Lowland Village" can be watched on-line, to view it in the Guildhall in the middle of Lavenham is an event in itself.
