Selkirk,Mb. is noted for great fishing on the muddy Red River and the catfish is one of the famous ones. Situated in the south part of the city beside the Golden Arches it is a popular place for photos.

Many prairie communities have a sculpture of their town mascot. Selkirk has a catfish- a rather unattractive fish but a cute sculpture. Along the Main Street in front of MacDonalds this makes an easy photo stop in Selkirk

He is prominently standing on Main Street in Selkrk in front of McDonalds. Easy to park and get out, read the plaque and pose for a photo.

Quick get away from bustling city, ended up driving to Selkirk had ice cream at McDonald and got picture taken with Chuck the catfish.

A interesting and Good statue for symbolism and a picture but besides that it's nothing special. Wouldn't stop again a second time.

I'm sure every fisherman will tell you he's caught one that big, don't believe them, there's only one Chuck. As city symbols go, this one's pretty cool.
