Hohentwiel is a small town off the Swiss border, close to lake Konstanz. The main attraction has to be the remains of a castle sitting at the top a hill, which is an extinct volcano. Plenty of bars but good food choices is rather limited.

Great outdoors activity on a nice day. Quite some climb, so bring good shoes. The downloadable audio guide is not worth much.

Worth the short but steep hike! The views are spectacular. We grabbed a hot coffee and lunch at the Hotel Restaurant at the base of the hill before leaving! Great way to warm up.

I find it very fascinating. Good views and atmosphere. Inside the Hohentwiel, there is nothing to buy, be prepared! It needs about 1.5-2 hours. Free parking place is available.
