We visited Bran and Rasnov in the same day which leads to unfair comparisons. Both are excellent, but for different reasons and built for different functions. Rasnov was a village, church and fortress built to withstand lengthy sieges and where the populace would withdraw inside....More

Me and my friend chose to visit the vitadel on a Saturday. Finding a parking was a nightmare. After that, cute little shops with traditinal objects and food trucks waited for us and this clearly changed our mood. Entrance fee was 12 Ron for adults,...More

This place is absolutely beautiful and a bit off the beaten track. We just parked on the street in Rasnov (free) and took the cable car up to the citadel. You can walk up but it’s very steep and it’s fun to go on the...More

We went to this citadel. As I am in my early 70’s I found the going tough. The place has fantastic views but the walking surface is very rugged and you have a reasonable climb. Not suitable for older people or toddlers. The place is...More

We visited the citadel on a very rainy day. We took the small train up ( 5 Lei per person for round trip ticket). The ride stops first at the Dino park and then heads up to the citadel. It runs every 5-10 minutes. You...More

Visiting the citadel gives some absolutely stunning views of the mountains and nearby towns. Entrance is only 12 lei for adults or 6 lei for students, and access is fairly easy with an elevator from Rasnov (12 lei return). There is some interesting history to...More

An easy place to visit on the road from Brasov to Brân. You can drive part way up the hill and walk the rest, but we parked in the main town near the funicular, which is a fun way to get to the citadel. We...More

Great castle to explore, and for families with little or. not so little ones, the Dino Park can be added in as it’s situated right below the castle. There are many shops inside the castle walls, where the old fortified village used to be, selling...More

It is worth visiting, mainly for the view and the elevator! It can be less commercial though, many of the shop owners inside the castle only sell products made in China, sold to the tourists as traditional craftworks. Such a shame, they should not be...More

The fortress was able to withstand a 6 month siege and was never defeated. There are over 80 homes inside the citadel. Great view from the top. There is a tram from the parking lot

I would get in touch with the citadel direct via the website. Personally I would thank him by signing his virtues on the best travel website TripAdvisor.
