Stunning display of buddha, bodisatvas, and interior replica of Phoenix Hall - you can actually see what it looked like when first built. One of the best places visited in Kyoto area.

My suggestion: Do not miss it ! An unforgettable visit ! Discover by yourselves These gorgeous temple and Museum ! The museum architect Kuriu Akira won a very important prize ! Enjoy!

We visited here after looking at the temple. The building is a must see for contemporary concrete building lovers. The displays are very beautiful, consisting of fixtures and carvings from the temple. No photography allowed inside the building.

Absolutely worth visiting! Give the Phoenix Hall tour a miss. The Buddhist temple bell, a pair of phoenix, 26 statues of small Buddhas on the clouds, eleven-headed Kannon and other Buddhist statues are exhibited in the museum. You can see recreated colors of door paintings...More

Really recommend this temple museum with historical items of the main Temple! The temple is in great beauty with the temple reflections in the lake, the enviroment is very nice and worth visiting for both solo or group visitors! Can spend nice time here walk...More

This small but modern museum part of the Byodoin temple complex (and included in the same entrance ticket) has a very impressive and well displayed collection of artifacts from the temple. Recommended !
