This is where the Buddha stayed for >20 years teaching. The structures are part of the monastic order and where the Monks including the Buddha lived. There is the Ananda tree there that is reported to be >2500 years old. Great place to visit for...More

This is a temple where the Buddhist believe that the lord of Buddha stay the longest time after his enlightenment. This temple is very big and has many cubicles and area where monks and Buddhists practice Buddhism. This is very peaceful place.

here you can see ruins of what believed as monastery donated by anathapindhika, where lord buddha spent 25 years of teaching. the original ones are only Kosamba Kuti (residence of Buddha), Gandha Kuti (main residence of Buddha). Others like ananda kuti, maha moggalana, kassapa, etc...More

My home is just 6 km from Shravasti and I feel very proud to see that something very great like Shravasti is just 6km from my home... believe me its awesome to go to shravasti... And jetavana is the most peaceful place in my area......More

I was very moved to visit the Buddha's monastery and to stand at the very spot on which his kuti (monastic hut) was located. There is also a wonderful Thai temple a short walk from the monastery.
