book the journey from the port online, no need to use ships excursion, double the price.Really enjoyed the trip was a wonderful walk and a pleasant surpeize to see so much water and beautifull flowers on the way.

The total distance from the Briksdal Inn to the glacier viewing point is about 2 km. The troll cars start at the Inn and take you about 1.5 km. You walk the remaining 500 m (approx). We walked the whole way and I don't... More

Sorry for this late reply, been on a cruise. My comment would be try to go as far as you can up the hill for a closer view. Even with the trolley we didn't get to the foot of the glacier.
