It is an quite big natural area where they have excavated about 230 old Tombs. Into some of the tombs you can walk, it is quite impressing. The entry fee is 2€ and we spend about 1 hour, walking around the beautiful area and visited...More

These ancient Minoan graves are mind blowing. Carved out of the solid rock nearly 4 thousand years ago. The entry fee is only €2 and you can wander around the site for about an hour and see all there is. A good information board in...More

Coming from Rethimno, just before entering the village of Armeni on your right hand: the old Minoan Nekropolis. The necropolis is situated in a beautiful oak forest. The village to which it belonged has still not been found yet. About 230 tombs were cut in...More

The opening time is 10:00 to 18:00 (closed in monday). It's an amazing place! 280 minoan grave... It's a little bit difficult to find, it's near the Armeni town, the opening time is changed.

This is a relatively small site, with approx 200 tombs cut into the rock, but only 2 of which you can enter. A fantastic setting in a wild oak grove. Opens at 10am (not 8.30 as per most guides/sites) and costs 2 euro but well...More

I've never visited ruins like these before. They are more than just holes in the ground: the sheer effort required to create these in the Bronze Age is astounding. The tombs are very well crafted, and it was with a renewed, melancholy respect that we...More

Highly interesting and a beautiful place, IF you are a fan of cemeteries and bygone, ancient times. It was a bit tricky to find, since there is very little information about it at any tourist-infos. But, it is visible on the larger map of Crete,...More

Any Greek graveyard is interesting - mostly because the gravestones have photographs of the deceased, this is not allowed in England although I think it will be legal in time to come. Anyway, no pics of people here but the very spot they were entombed...More
