An amazing experience. The top of the maunga was a once and a life time experience. Please be advised that this hike could be very dangerous if you are not fit or don’t have the appropriate tramping/hiking gear.

The land of the long white cloud, aka New Zealand, can be ideal with the right light and weather, since the mountain is seemingly always in clouds, however it is such unforgettable set, every step of it worth the effort and hopefully the view! (Visited...More

One of the north islands must do hikes. It is a climb, not literally with ropes, steep steps that seem to never end. We only hiked to the first lower summit. That was enough. The high summit can be treacherous. I believe 68 people have...More

After taking a nearly five-hour trip to Mt Taranaki for the day, we were looking forward to the sights in and around the mountain. Unfortunately the day started out pretty dreary, so our view of the mountain was blocked by rain and clouds on the...More

Drove here. Beautiful views. Most valuable was the video explanation of the Maori story of how the Mount Taranaki came to be.

I had to do all the driving towards Taranaki because my wife couldn’t take her eyes off it. I was worried her love of its volcanic angles might cause us to veer of the road because she was too focused on its majestic cloud-covered peak...More
