About
CherryHill Orchards is a 3rd generation family orchard with a passion for growing the world’s greatest cherries. Our story began in 1940 when our grandfather, George Riseborough, planted his first cherry trees in Victoria’s fertile Yarra Valley. Over 75 years later, our family still proudly carries on this cherry growing tradition with diligence and passion to produce Australia’s finest cherries. Today, their Yarra Valley orchard has grown to be one of Australia’s most loved cherry-picking destinations. With over 13,000 cherry trees, a cherry café serving their famous cherry ice-cream, picnic facilities and breathtaking views, it’s the perfect day trip for family, friends and larger groups. CherryHill Orchards is conveniently located just one hour’s drive from Melbourne in the beautiful facilities and multi-lingual staff make them the orchard of choice for international visitors.

Not your typical fruit picking farm!
Jan 2021
Not your typical fruit picking farm. The staff customer service was excellent. Everyone was just so smiley and helpful. I especially loved their delicious cherry ice-cream while sitting on the lawn to enjoy the views of the Yarra Valley. We bought home 2 full bags of fresh dark cherries!

Lack of compassion
Nov 2020
we sponsored for 5 overseas students who had been in lockdown, but one of our group had a medical emergency on the day, but no refund was offered, this lack of compassions spoilt what should have been a great experience.

this one person would not have been missed given the number of people present

so if you take a group do not expect any considerations for no shows for whatever reason!

Cherry picking teat
Dec 2019
Great day out from Melbourne. Being from Queensland I had never seen cherry trees before. Very organised place, my friend booked online (you have to, they weren't taking walk ins). A bus takes you in to the orchid to were the cherrys are ripe for picking. You can eat as many as you like while picking and hop on the bus back when you are finished with your picking. They also have a cafe & toilets back at the entrance.

Cherry Picking - Good value family outing December 2019
Dec 2019
Not many outings for several hours of enjoyment and only $35 for family. We arrived and met up with another family of friends, popped on the bus and went on the short drive around the orchard to the current pick site. There were heaps of cherries, easy to pick even for short kids, absolutely massive, meaty and tasty. Delicious. All you can eat (whilst on-site) is included in the entry fee. It was a little awkward carrying around our picnic blanket and esky whilst picking, so instead left them with staff at bus pickup/dropoff spot in orchard.
Then went back to the main area for a picnic (we took a blanket, but there were quite a few picnic tables too). There was also three food trucks offering 1) pizza ($10-12), 2) Caribbean food like jerk chicken (around $14) and hot chips ($5) and 3) a vietnamese van with Bahn Mi ($8.50), spring rolls (6 for $10), rice paper rolls etc.
The cherry farm cafe also sold three types of sorbet/icecream ($5) and cherry drinks etc.
Being a weekend, there was also live music - a guy and his guitar - very pleasant, added to atmosphere. Nice views.... A tractor for kids to climb on, and some lawn games... Face painting was free.
There were lots of portable toilets that seemed pretty clean and had hand-wash facilities. Parking was good - large area and staffed.
Overall, we stayed around 3 hours, but it would have been less without another family to chat to and our kids to play with.

Lovely orchard to stroll in
Sep 2019
I went with friends to the Cherry Blossom Festival. After a somewhat disappointing visit to the tulip festival prior, this venue was a steal! At $10 entry, we received a welcome cherry spritzer on arrival. Free beverage tastings were available at the bar (with an interesting selection of cherry drinks), as well as cherry flavoured gelato. An assortment of food trucks were available, and good areas for seating (picnic blankets advisable on a good weather day). The venue is very picturesque, with several rows of cherry trees with white blossoms (do not be expecting the pink blossoms that you see in Japan, otherwise you will be disappointed) which are lovely to stroll through. Great way to chill out surrounded by nature.

Great Festival held in September to experience the Blossoms and great food/drinks
Sep 2019 • Couples
Visited this on Monday 30th September, to see the gorgeous blooms of the cherry trees.
Stunning trees in bloom.
Great vibe walking amongst the trees, with beehives and a small creek to take more photos.
The vibe was great.
The food trucks were yummy.
The wines/beers all cherry inspired were all thoughtful and the service was super friendly and community spirited.
Highly recommend visiting!!

Lovely day in the country
Sep 2019 • Family
Read about the cherry blossom festival on Facebook and thought it would be a good destination for my partner’s birthday.
Had to change the tickets from Sunday to Friday and the friendly person at the farm gave clear instructions on how to do sound gave us some tips on how best enjoy the day.
We arrived early and got a park very easily as the area was very well organized with parking attendants.
Got a very warm reception at the entrance And a complimentary cherry soda, seems like they’ve done this all before as it was so very well thought out.
Coffee and tastings were available as was a food truck selection. We packed a picnic lunch and there were heaps of picnic tables available. Live music and a beautiful view topped off a fabulous day in the country!
Thank you so very much! We will be back for the cherry picking 🥰

Cherry Blossom Festival 2019
Oct 2019 • Friends
Yes! The blossoms are out - two large areas are flowering & humming with bees. Only white blossoms of the fruiting variety not the pink of the japanese sakura fame. You need to book online esp. for the weekend - 3 session times to choose from- $10 adults & $5 for kids. You get a complimentary bottle of home made cherry spritzer which is refreshing.

As part of the festival - there was a one man band (ok) & face painting for kids - nothing much else. A small cafe retailing home made produce & the $5 cherry ice cream (can also buy this outside from a pink van). In a nutshell - not much variety! There are covered tables & seats in one area. Best to bring your own picnic. Otherwise you can buy from 4 food trucks selling rather pricey fare. Portaloo toilets only. Hard going to push prams or wheelchairs around - proper paths are very limited.

As a "festival" - it was rather lacking in activities or even artisan market stalls to offer some variety. There are workshops but you need to pay extra & book ahead. You do get the pink cherry blossoms (just coming into flower) in the car park area but this is quite sparse. Rows of Chanticleer pear trees, crab apples or japanese maples lining the driveway would be worth a thought to add some pizazz.

Mont De Lancey Homestead nearby puts on a fabulous Yesteryear festival in Nov with so much on offer for $10 entry.
