We didn't even know what this place will be. So we just checked and what a great decision. Stunning view, forest and an old now destroyed village with a castle on the top of the mountain. Oh did I mentioned that it's free to visit?:)

Absolutely stunning views + perfect weather. And litter-free! I rode a mountain bike to the site. In October, the temperature is perfect for longer distance cycling. FYI: Best not to wear flip-flops or flimsy sandals while hiking up to the castle.

At first we thought that Paleo Pyli was close to/in the town of Pyli itself, but in fact it's still a little further up a little road. There is parking space available at the foot of the fortress of paleo Pyli, although it's not big....More

Still a nice place for a (steep) walk under the trees. Abandoned old churches. Fantastic views from the top of the hill adjacent to the café. Free parking. Definitely recommend water and strong shoes.
