- Shars66Horndon-on-the-Hill, United Kingdom174 contributionsFantastic massage, fabulous spa.Wow wow wow! Even though the spa was closed for refurbishment the treatments were still available! I had booked a scrub but changed it when we got there and so glad they could accommodate. I had a deep tissue massage by Sarah and an add on scalp massage. I had terrible pain in my hips and groin beforehand and under the physio. I hardly mentioned it to Sarah but she knew exactly where the pain was and although I have to say at the start it was painful, I felt so much better after. Had my massage Sunday and since then have so much more movement in my hips and hardly any pain. Went physio today and don’t need to go back. Sarah you are a super woman with magical healing hands!!! If only you were round the corner. If you can ask for Sarah then ask. She’s amazing!Visited April 2023Traveled with friendsWritten April 5, 2023
- Robert F1 contributionAmazing! We went to the newly renovated Aqua Sana Spa and it was incredible. The facilities they have and how incredibly peaceful it all is was quite frankly amazing. The new refurbishment has done the spa wonders. I had the Tree of life treatment by a massage specialist called Nicole Rose. She was incredibly professional and made the whole relaxation experience that little bit better (if it could get any better) Would highly recommend.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten September 29, 2023
- Adele CBishops Stortford, United Kingdom4 contributionsNowhere near as good since the refurbIt was our first time post the refurb. What a disappointment. Fewer experiences, and some were daft. A “lava spa” which was plastic lights and bubbly noises, and two rooms that were supposed to feel like sitting around a log fire when they were actually electric! Hilariously bad.Visited October 2023Traveled with friendsWritten October 6, 2023
- Brica20 contributionsDisappointingDidnt enjoy the spa this time, loved it previously. The lovely blossom steam room is gone, the room with electric log fires in is pointless, as are other rooms. The lovely bubble beds and multiple jets in the pool are gone..and the pool is chilly. Nearly £70 each for 3 hours..we left after 2 and wont be goinf back.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 9, 2023
- Linda FLincoln, United Kingdom49 contributionsA heavenly experience of relaxation and tranquilityTo celebrate one year of my being alcohol free we chose to mark the occasion with a luxury spa break at Aqua Sana Elveden Forest. Having never been to a Spa before and both being in our 70s we were rather nervous about what to expect however our concierge/host “Sara” went out of her way both before and during our stay. She made sure all our needs were met. She set us at ease. She accommodated my mobility issues and nothing was too much trouble. The suite was pure luxury. Comfortable, roomy, an enormous bath even a balcony. Refreshments were waiting for us with a special treat of chocolate dipped strawberries and apricots. We had a great selection of teas and coffee together with soft drinks in the fridge. Not forgetting breakfast that was served in our suite. Everything about the spa experience including the treatments and relaxation times were brilliant. Thanks to everyone especially Sara who did so much to make our stay so perfectVisited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 23, 2023
- jjcanterbury33 contributionsHurrah for the refurb!I was rather anxious about my trip to the refurbished spa after having loved AS for years and reading so many negative reviews, but I was so pleased I went with an open mind and was more than pleasantly surprised. Everything looks so fresh and clean and there was certainly enough variety to keep me entertained for the day. As much as I loved the Greek Herbal Bath, I think some have forgotten how tired it was beginning to look and it was tiny…how many times did you have to keep returning to find a cubby hole space in the wall? Ditto the Japanese Salt room? We went on a Monday at the beginning of half term and had no problem with finding spaces in the experiences. I noted a review about the toadstool room and nothing happening in there…you need to stay for the surprise which hilariously made us all laugh. The entrance to the pool area is a vast improvement…like the entrance to the rapids. At last, no more banging doors! As noted, the cafe is also a vast improvement and has less of a draughty, echoey feel to it. I have only one practical suggestion to make…hangers on the back of toilet doors. I did not want to leave my robe on a toilet floor! A shout out to Lily who did a lovely sleep relaxation session. We had a lovely day and will definitely return.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten October 23, 2023
- kev1983125 contributionsMixed feelings about refurbWe have been going to Elveden Aqua sana for years, this was our first visit since the refurbishment. The positives: the pool is now entered from inside and you swim out. This is much better than having to walk outside in cold weather then get in. Outdoor hot tubs are nice addition Cafe refit is nice Negatives: they have done away with a number of proper experience rooms. There are now so many areas of "relaxation space" you feel like they just wanted to save money by putting diffrent kinds of beds in. Also a lot of diffrent showers which in practice didn't work as the signs indicated. (Far too many of these too) Outdoor pool was colder than it use to be years ago meaning you don't want to spend much time in it . Over all we were left a little disappointed and missed some of the old experience rooms. Everything looks nice but feel like its been done to save money not enhance guest experienceVisited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 26, 2023
- Gone Wild 2020Northamptonshire, United Kingdom125 contributionsA little disapponted.I visited with my daughter booking a spa suit during October half term, there was a delay on arrival as the concierge was admitting other guests. During busy times why not consider having another room with concierge available? When you arrive you don’t want to wait around to be seen especially when many other day guests are being admitted. This point was overheard being mentioned by other independent parties during the stay. The spa car park was nearly full on arrival, I won’t go into the new layout as this is mentioned in previous reviews. The spa area was very busy on both days, too busy & noisy, space in some of the experience rooms was limited to no existent as a result, changing room also very busy. Outside hot tubs lovely, again very busy with limited space unless you want to get really personable with a stranger. It feels more of a money making process now as opposed to a lovely relaxing guest experience which I found disappointing. The Vitalie Cafe has been expanded which is better although one female member of staff was rude & dismissive, I had to ask to be served after waiting 15 mins & she was stood beside us. The refurb was definitely required, I’m wouldn’t pay to attend again due to this experience unless there was a cap on the number of visitors.Visited October 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 1, 2023
- Vms17The Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield, United Kingdom5 contributionsSuper Spa breakWe stayed for two days at the spa, in one of the newly built Spa Suites. It was quite simply amazing. The attention to detail was excellent. The staff are delightful, friendly and reassuring, making you feel special. On arrival everything was explained and we felt relaxed from the start. Extras like, fizz on arrival, and the suite itself included; sleep spray, food and drink treats, magnifying mirrors, straighteners, ironing board, there was a huge balcony, and the in room breakfast was fresh, tasty and healthy! We could not fault the stay! We will return very soon!Visited November 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 13, 2023
- Greece loverWymondham, United Kingdom33 contributionsDisappointing 40th birthday spa daySo we went here for my sisters 40th birthday on the 18th November. Staff are lovely especially the lovely lady who brought us up a glass of bubbly as a birthday gift from them to my sister so that was a really kind gesture. However, we came here many time before the refurbishment and loved it! This time, I was very disappointed in the lack of steam rooms. There are far more relaxation beds on the top floor, in fact there are more relaxation beds then there are steam rooms. We were here on a day spa 9am-5pm and got very bored after a few hours as we didn’t go to lay on a bed (can do that at home) and we don’t like saunas as the dry heat affects my asthma. So we were left just wondering around and around wondering what to do. Soo many steam rooms have been taken away. More private changing cubicles would be good too for the not soo confident people who don’t like to change infront of others. There was only 1 so a few had to wait to use it aswell as the only toilet too. For what we paid we’d also expect to get freebie flip flops included like most spas. Instead we had to pay. Overall I was very disappointed for what we got for the money we paid.Visited November 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 21, 2023

We did the twilight spa session and the first impressions were good. Changing rooms were clean and nice to have welcome drinks on arrival.
We went around the site using most of the steam rooms and pools etc. There were also a couple of saunas too with the bigger one being hotter than the other. The relaxation areas upstairs were nice and peaceful.
We used the hot tubs outside which were good but could have been warmer. Also the pool could have been warmer too. this was a little on the cold side.
Probably would say it wasn't as good as I was expecting but it was still a positive experience.

A truly underwhelming experience this week. It was my birthday and very much looking forward to a day away from the hustle. I mentioned it at check in the woman said happy birthday and left it at that.
It’s been refurbished since last visit.
We had to wait for a few rooms to be emptied a little bit overcrowded. We went into the food area had no instructions about what was or wasn’t included. We had a day ran into another lady who mentioned that it was her birthday she was given a glass of bubbly and a discounted treatment option. We then looked at taking part in a meditation session was routed twice by the staff and no one turned up. Truly underwhelming and with the price rise champneys is much better service.

Having received a Birthday treat from my lovely husband ,and curious about its multi million refurbishment, yesterday evening was a disappointment !
The swimming pool was very chilly, the new free for all footspa was rubbish, the lack of the lovely old steam rooms, making way for these ridiculous plastic fire's ! The cosy ! relaxing areas was a huge blow! the nordic log cabin really quite garish, smelly, plastic fire again, and the hideous rugs were not at all pleasant.
The welcome, the staff in the cafe, although still very limited were very pleasant and delightful. My husbands company , just we two a highlight. Otherwise hugely disappointing, over priced, and we will not be going back, or telling our friends to go !
It was noisy, and no staff seemed to try to quieten down the noise !

The spa is simply amazing. So many rooms to choose from. Although busy, everyone was respectful, quiet and I was able to feel deeply relaxed. The staff from the reception desk to the cafe to the spa were very friendly and helpful. Myself and my partner enjoyed the wellness sessions that were being held including a DIY facial and meditation/oils for sleep. We also treated ourselves to massages. Mine was the Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress massage and I can honestly say it was one of the best massages I have ever had. The therapist was called Amanda and she was absolutely lovely, made me feel so at ease and relaxed, and you can tell by the massage how experienced she was. Would thoroughly recommend! I left today feeling relaxed and will sleep well tonight!

We frequently went to aqua sana in elveden before the refurb. I didn't understand why it needed refurbishment because it was amazing but I was intrigued to see what was done. It feels like there's a lot less, some of the experiences are just terrible - sitting in the log cabin on damp seats in the cold for example. Some areas were smelly. There weren't many steam rooms like before. Felt like a lot more meditation spaces that did nothing. The layout made it feel crowded whereas before you could always find a nook to yourself. And they removed most of the jets in the pool even though they were always occupied when we went. Just a bit baffled. Seems like the refurb was an expensive downgrade. Will likely be looking for other spas to try.

My husband & I enjoyed the 3 hour spa & afternoon tea package. We are big fans of Aqua Sana and love the new refurb! The only thing we both noticed was a lack of robe hooks in the toilets so you have to put your robe on the toilet floor when you go?!

I agree with so many others here, we were unimpressed with the refurbished spa at Elveden. We visited for my husbands birthday the first week in February. There were fewer experiences and many of which were nothing special - just quiet/darker seating areas. We had been regular visitors previously to this spa but it is nowhere near as good and felt very busy and congested. We won't be returning.

As an avid Aqua Sana user I was excited to see Elveden forest after the refurb. The spa has been looking somewhat tired in recent years so a refurb was certainly needed. I was actually very impressed - the whole spa was spotless and there was plenty of room to relax.
From what I remember, downstairs you have two saunas, three steam rooms, seated foot spa area, three hot tubs outside which have replaced the Japanese zen garden and the pool. The pool now has an indoor entrance which is better. There was also a Nordic snug outside which was lovely.
Upstairs you have two meditation rooms, a large sauna which overlooks the forest, and another steam room. Experience showers are scattered throughout the spa. Upstairs was a resting area in large rattan ‘nests’ and waterbeds.
The water dispensers with fruit in have now been replaced with a water fountain which I didn’t prefer.
I browsed the treatment menu but the pricing for this was excessive. As a therapist myself I absolutely could not justify spending £65 on a mini treatment. I adore Elemis products but I’d be expecting La Prairie at that price 😂 This was my reason for the four stars.
All in all, a clean, well equipped spa with wonderful friendly staff. Four stars as the treatments are pricey.

There’s different packages on offer. You can do a Spa Day for 2 people which is £138 I think. But you get a small breakfast (e.g. a croissant and a drink) on arrival. Then lunch between 12 & 2pm also included. You get access between 9am and 6pm. You can do an evening for two people for £79 or thereabouts. That’s between 6pm & 9pm. Treatments cost more and those are pricy but so worth it. Have a look at their website
