A big climb from Sunny Grove. One hour uphill then another 30min but best views in Wellington region and opportunity to drop into the Tukere Valley and listen to kiwi released in recent years.

I, along with another supervisor took 20 Young New Zealander Challenge participants to the Rimutaka Forest Park. We did an overnight camp there and the facilities in the camping area, although basic were adequate.

There are lots of tracks and we really enjoyed the walks. There are camp grounds too not sure it is allowed camp inside the forest. Great place for nature lovers

A must visit. A haven to relax in. Camping is available. Teriffic walks for all fitness levels. Great picnic spot.

Wonderful scenery with walks ranging from short/easy to 4-5 hr walks. Excellent picnic areas for family times and ample parking available

Plenty of signs with information. And photographic material on the history of the area. Many people stop here.

A lovely drive round Coast Rd to get here.Big car park and plenty of lovely walks to do.Swim in the river and even pitch your tent,plenty of spaces for that.Spark up the barbie and just relax.
