Stunning view

Cheap entrance. Safe stairs. Awesome view of sea, land and churches. A well worth visit if you find yourself in the neighborhood.

Such a lovely middle age church located in a small village on AEro. The churchyard has a very pretty cometary which is obviously canned for by loving hands.
Once you cross the threshold you are able to take in the serenity of this place of worship.
The altar is beautiful and has a little interesting quirk in the lower right corner.
Don’t forget to look up and enjoy the face with the gaping mouth.

This church holds a special place in our family. This is where our Grandfather was raised. This is our third time visiting here. Each time the people are most welcoming and friendly! A very special feeling to step back in time. The church is in incredible condition for as old as it it! Definitely coming back!

Bregninge Kirke is the most beautiful church on Aero
Jun 2018 • Couples
This church from the Middle Ages isn't that much to look at from the outside, but on the inside it is glorious. It has beautiful paintings on its walls. Don't miss the fool on the ceiling with a bell chord coming out of his mouth. Like many Danish churches it has models of 18th century sailing ships hanging from the ceiling. There is a beautiful altar piece and an impeccably groomed graveyard.

We were unable to enter the church because of a funeral. However the grounds are beautiful, and worth the time.

It's a church - that's it.

Worth a visit if you have never been to a church in Denmark or if you are particularly interested in churches. However, have you already seen a danish church, this one will seem familiar. It does however differ in detail. Friendly staff! Have a chat if you're there.

Incredible Experience
Jun 2017 • Couples
My wife and I visited Aero and decided to follow the Rick Steves self-guided tour. When we came across the church we were impressed with the layout of the cemetery and its care. In the church there was so much to see ... the painters unhappy "fool" on the ceiling, the hour glasses on the pulpit, and much more. If you get the chance, stop and check it out.

Beautiful old Church
May 2017 • Couples
My partner once said: "this church is beautiful". An old woman replied "aren't old churches beautiful?". Indeed, this one is ancient and beautifully maintained. And it's amazing to note that's open to the public almost everyday.

Historical Church
Jun 2016 • Couples
This beautiful country church in the middle of Aero Island dates back to the 1200’s. The church houses a most beautiful piece of art - a triptych by master Claus Berg. You may notice an odd self portrait of the church’s painter with a large hole in the place of his mouth. Visit the church and learn the story! The grounds surrounding the church are very pretty with well maintained gardens and burial plots. We were lucky to happen upon a little service that was just finishing up so we had an opportunity to speak with the church minister.

Caught this little gem of a church while riding bikes about the island. Great stop with quiet meditative space.
