Good collection of railway-related items and actual train engines. Poor maintenance of premises and lack of a guide for those who are unfamiliar with the exhibits is a drawback. There is a restored railway carriage at the very end where a documentary on the Sri...More

The National Rail Museum had already closed by the time I had arrived into Kadugannawa which was a shame as I would have liked to have spent some time in the museum. There are locomotives, carriages and rail cars located outside but within the museum...More

Ok you probably have to be either: a train freak or a kid who likes to pull levers, rotate dials, climb all over train engines, play with cranes, tap Morse code or just love things mechanical. I'm neither but it is a cool place. There...More

Opened recently best place yo visit regarding railway. Many old locomotives and signalling equipment like tablet instrument and Mose code system can operated by visitors here. Also mechanical signals can be operated using levers by visitors.
